Overview

The MotorGuide 8M4004180 is a sonar adapter cable that lets a Raymarine Axiom display read the 2D 83/200 kHz sonar signal from a MotorGuide Tour or Tour Pro HD+ trolling motor.

It is meant for setups where the sonar source is at the bow under the trolling motor, and you want that return on an Axiom (including Axiom Pro) without changing transducers or cutting wiring. This connection is for 2D sonar only, so you will be working with traditional depth and fish-arch views at 83/200 kHz.

Compatibility and fit

This adapter is intended for Tour and Tour Pro models that are HD+ enabled. It is not a match for Xi Series motors, and it is not meant for non HD+ trolling motor sonar setups. On the display side, it is built for the Raymarine Axiom family, including Axiom Pro, for 2D sonar viewing.

Installation and setup

Connect the MotorGuide end to the trolling motor sonar lead, then connect the Raymarine end to the Axiom transducer port. After powering up, select a 2D sonar view and confirm the frequency options are set up for 83/200 kHz so the unit is looking at the right channel.

Route the cable so it can move with the shaft when you deploy and stow the motor. Leave a little slack at the pivot points and secure the run so it will not get pinched by the mount, rub on the steering collar, or snag when the motor is trimmed and strapped down for a run across chop.

Use on board

This is a good fit for anglers running a bow-mounted Tour or Tour Pro HD+ who want their Raymarine Axiom at the bow to show bottom tracking and fish targets directly under the trolling motor. It also works well for boats where you want a clean install with the sonar source up front, rather than adding a second transducer and cable run.
