Overview
The MotorGuide 8M0092066 is a medium-duty trolling motor receptacle that mounts through a panel and gives you a quick disconnect point for trolling motor power.
It works with 12, 24, and 36 volt trolling motor systems and supports 2-wire or 3-wire configurations. The body installs through a standard 1-1/8" diameter mounting hole and accepts 8 AWG or 10 AWG wire.
A sealing cap closes the opening when the plug is removed, and drain holes in the receptacle help keep water from sitting around the electrical contacts.
Key features
- Compatible with 12, 24, and 36 volt trolling motor power circuits
- Works with 2-wire or 3-wire wiring layouts
- Fits a standard 1-1/8" diameter mounting hole
- Accepts 8 AWG and 10 AWG wire
- Cap seals the receptacle when not in use to help keep spray and rain out
- Drain holes help move water away from the electrical components
- Plated brass electrical components for consistent contact in a wet environment
- Construction resists corrosion during marine use
Installation and wiring
Mount the receptacle where you can reach it on the bow and where the back side stays accessible for wiring. After drilling the 1-1/8" hole, dry-fit the body so the cap can open fully and the cable can route without a tight bend.
Use the wire gauge your trolling motor circuit calls for and keep connections tight so vibration does not work them loose over time. Circuit protection and conductor sizing should follow the trolling motor manufacturer guidance and your boat's electrical standards.
Compatibility and fit
This is the receptacle side of a trolling motor quick-disconnect. Pair it with a matching trolling motor plug and confirm your system voltage and wire count before cutting the panel.
Use on board
A good match for boats that remove the trolling motor for trailering, storage, or service and want a consistent disconnect at the bow instead of hardwiring the leads.
Maintenance and care
Keep the cap closed when the plug is removed, and rinse spray off the exterior after a day on the water. Periodically check terminal tightness and look for heat discoloration that can point to a loose connection.
