Overview
The Hella Marine EuroLED 75 is a round LED downlight for boat interiors and exposed areas, with 190 lumens of measured output and a fully sealed build rated to IP6K7 and IP6K9K.
It runs on either 12V DC or 24V DC systems depending on the version, and draws under 3W (less than 0.19A at 12V or less than 0.1A at 24V). Light output is offered in warm white (2700K) or neutral white (5000K), with a dual-colour option that switches between neutral white and red for low-light use at night.
Installation uses a standard 50mm (2 inch) cutout. Each unit is pre-wired with 120mm of tinned marine cable, and low EMC noise helps keep radio communications clean on board.
Key features
- 190 lumen actual output with a wide, even spread that keeps glare down in cabins and cockpits
- Under 3W consumption (less than 0.19A at 12V DC or less than 0.1A at 24V DC)
- IP6K7 and IP6K9K sealing for wet or dry mounting locations, including washdowns
- 12V DC and 24V DC versions to match common onboard power systems
- Warm white 2700K, neutral white 5000K, and neutral white with red dual-colour options depending on configuration
- Trim choices in UV resistant white plastic or a 316 stainless steel rim
- Screw-mount or spring-mount hardware options for different panel access and install styles
- Standard 50mm (2 inch) cutout and 120mm tinned marine cable for straightforward refits
- Low EMC noise and approvals that include CE, RCM, EN60945:2002, and UKCA
Variants
This range is offered with different combinations of trim, mounting method, voltage, and light colour. Options in this listing cover white plastic or stainless steel trim, screw mount or spring mount, 12V or 24V, and warm white or neutral white output. A 12V dual-colour version adds a red mode alongside neutral white.
The core form factor stays consistent across the range: a 50mm cutout, a round low-profile face, and a sealed housing suitable for interior or exterior locations.
Installation and setup
Plan for a clean 50mm cutout and enough clearance behind the panel for the lamp body and wiring. Screw-mount versions fasten through the trim, while spring-mount versions use clips behind the panel, which works well when you want a flush look with minimal hardware on show.
The lead is 120mm, so most installs will splice to a longer run. Use marine-grade connections and support the cable run so it does not chafe in vibration-prone areas.
Electrical and dimming
Match the lamp voltage to your boat’s system voltage. Dimming is supported via PWM or a voltage-resistive dimmer, so the dimmer type needs to align with the circuit you are building.
If you are using the neutral white and red dual-colour version, plan the switching so crew can access the red mode quickly for night passages and dockside checks.
Where it works well on board
This style of downlight fits well in cabins, saloons, heads, companionways, and under hardtops where you want broad illumination from a small cutout. The sealed housing also suits areas that see spray or frequent wipe-downs.
It is a good match for refits where you want a consistent look across interior and exterior zones without a noticeable increase in current draw.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt off the trim when you can and wipe with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the stainless rim so it keeps its finish, and keep connections protected behind panels.
