Overview
The Hella Marine EuroLED 75 is a dual colour LED downlight that switches between warm white and red for clean cabin lighting and a low-glare night mode. It runs on 12V DC systems (9-16V DC), draws 3W, and produces 190 lumens through a diffused lens that spreads light evenly without a harsh hotspot.
This screw-mount version is a recess-fit light that installs into a 50mm diameter cutout. The lamp is completely sealed for wet or dry mounting locations, with IP 6K7 and IP 6K9K protection for dust, water immersion, and washdowns where spray and cleaning are part of normal life on board.
Key features
- Dual colour output: warm white (2700K) for general lighting and red for maintaining night vision.
- 12V DC input range 9-16V DC, 3W draw, 190 lumen actual output.
- Recess mount with screw fixing; fits a 50mm diameter cutout.
- Completely sealed construction with IP 6K7 and IP 6K9K protection for wet or dry locations.
- Dimmable via PWM or a voltage resistive dimmer for tuning brightness in cabins and cockpits.
- Pre-wired with 120mm tinned marine cable for straightforward connections.
Variants
This product is offered with the same warm white and red lighting function in different rim materials.
The rim material is what changes between versions; the lamp format remains a screw-mount EuroLED 75 dual colour downlight for 12V DC installation.
- 015247121: 316 stainless steel rim. A good match where you want a metal finish at the headliner, under hardtops, or in areas that see frequent cleaning.
- 015247111: UV resistant plastic rim. A practical option for keeping a consistent interior trim look while still handling typical cabin moisture and vibration.
Installation and setup
Plan for a 50mm diameter cutout and enough clearance behind the panel for the lamp body and wiring. Screw mount is helpful when you are working in headliners, liners, or panels where you want a secure mechanical hold that stays put with hull vibration and slamming.
For exterior or washdown-prone locations, keep cable routing tidy and supported so the wiring is not carrying the weight of the lamp. Use appropriate marine sealing practices around the cutout and fasteners based on your surface and bedding preference.
Electrical and system integration
The lamp is intended for 12V DC systems with a 9-16V DC operating window. If you are integrating it into a dimming system, use a PWM dimmer or a voltage resistive dimmer that matches your existing lighting circuit. Keep splices protected from corrosion and secure them away from drips and condensation paths.
Use on board
Warm white works well for cabins, saloons, galleys, and seating areas where you want light that feels natural at night. Red mode is handy for night passages, wheelhouse work, and late-night checks on deck when you want to see without blowing out your dark adaptation.
