Overview
The Raymarine A80235 is a 2 m video in and alarm cable for connecting analog video and external alarm functions to compatible Raymarine multifunction displays. It gives installers a clean way to bring an analog camera feed into the display and to route an alarm output for an external buzzer in helm stations, pilothouses, flybridges, and other navigation areas where alerts need to be heard clearly.
The cable is 2 m, or about 6.6 ft, which suits short runs behind a glass bridge, electronics panel, or overhead helm console. It connects to the display’s alarm and video input port and includes the video path used for analog video input through a BNC-style connection, depending on the display installation.
This is a focused accessory for Raymarine display systems rather than a general-purpose marine cable. It is most useful when the display installation needs a secondary analog video source, such as a security or thermal camera feed, and a dedicated external alarm connection in the same wiring run.
Key features
- 2 m cable length gives enough reach for typical helm-console and electronics-panel installations without leaving excessive spare cable behind the display.
- Supports analog video input for compatible Raymarine displays, allowing a camera feed to be viewed through the display’s video function.
- Includes alarm output wiring for connecting an external alarm buzzer where audible display alerts are needed away from the screen itself.
- Works with the display’s dedicated alarm and video input connection, helping keep the installation organized behind flush-mounted or bracket-mounted displays.
- Useful for refits and replacement work when adding or restoring video input and alarm output capability on a compatible Raymarine system.
Compatibility and fit
This cable is intended for compatible Raymarine Axiom XL and gS Series display installations that use the Raymarine alarm and video input accessory connection. Before ordering, match the display model and rear-panel connector layout to the vessel’s existing Raymarine installation, especially on refits where earlier display families and cable styles may be mixed behind the dash.
The cable is not a power, network, NMEA 2000, or RayNet cable. It should be selected only for the video input and external alarm functions it supports.
Installation and setup
Install the cable with strain relief and a dry, serviceable route behind the helm whenever possible. Avoid tight bends at the display connector, and keep the run away from sharp edges, high-heat engine room surfaces, and moving steering or throttle components.
For an external alarm buzzer, make secure insulated connections and protect the joined wiring from moisture. For analog video, connect the camera or video source to the cable’s video input connection and confirm display settings inside the Raymarine video app or display menu during commissioning.
Use cases on board
This cable makes sense for boats that use a Raymarine display as more than a chartplotter, especially cruising boats, sportfishing boats, and pilothouse vessels where a camera feed or audible helm alarm adds practical value. It is also a straightforward replacement part when an existing video in or alarm cable has been removed, damaged, or left out during an electronics upgrade.
