Overview
This Raymarine SeaTalk 1 to SeaTalkNG spur female adaptor cable is a network adaptor for bringing legacy SeaTalk 1 data into a SeaTalkNG installation through a proper bridging device. It is used with ST70-series color instruments or the E22158 SeaTalk to SeaTalkNG converter, allowing older SeaTalk 1 information to be translated into modern SeaTalkNG and NMEA 2000 data.
This is not a general-purpose direct network joiner. It belongs in installations where an existing Raymarine SeaTalk 1 device or instrument group is being integrated during an electronics upgrade, with the bridge handling the protocol conversion. The range is available in 400 mm and 1 m lengths, so the installer can keep the run tidy behind a helm, nav station, instrument pod, or electronics panel.
Key features
- Connects SeaTalk 1 equipment to a SeaTalkNG network through a supported bridging device.
- Works with ST70-series color instruments or the E22158 SeaTalk to SeaTalkNG converter.
- Supports the movement of SeaTalk 1 information into SeaTalkNG and NMEA 2000 data through the bridge.
- Female adaptor cable format for legacy SeaTalk 1 connections.
- Available in 400 mm and 1 m cable lengths for different helm and panel layouts.
- Useful when refitting a boat that still has working Raymarine SeaTalk 1 instruments but is moving toward a newer SeaTalkNG backbone.
Variants
This adaptor cable is offered in two cable lengths for different installation layouts.
The connection purpose remains the same across the range: both variants are SeaTalk 1 to SeaTalkNG spur female adaptor cables for use with a supported bridging device. The only variant option shown here is cable length.
- A06047: Cable length 400 mm. This shorter cable suits compact helm backs, instrument pods, and installations where the bridge sits close to the legacy SeaTalk 1 connection.
- A06073: Cable length 1 m. This longer cable gives more routing room when the converter, display, or network junction is mounted farther away inside a console or electronics panel.
Installation and setup
Plan this cable as part of the bridge connection, not as a standalone conversion cable. The SeaTalk 1 side connects to the legacy equipment side, while the SeaTalkNG side is used with the supported Raymarine bridge or ST70-series instrument arrangement that performs the data translation.
Before closing up the panel, check that the cable length leaves a service loop without forcing a tight bend at the connector. On small boats and sailboat instrument pods, the 400 mm option can reduce excess cable. On larger helms or refit panels, the 1 m option gives more room to route around bus bars, mounting frames, and other electronics.
Compatibility and fit
This cable is a good match for boat owners and installers keeping functional SeaTalk 1 instruments while adding or maintaining a SeaTalkNG network. It is most relevant on Raymarine refits where older depth, speed, wind, or instrument data needs to reach newer displays or networked equipment through a supported converter.
Confirm the system uses a compatible bridging device before ordering. Standard SeaTalkNG and NMEA 2000 networks do not translate SeaTalk 1 data on their own, so the correct converter or ST70-series bridge is the key part of the installation.
