Overview
The Raymarine B164 is a bronze through-hull sonar transducer for Raymarine CP370 and legacy DSM-style fishfinder systems, with 1 kW RMS power and dual 50/200 kHz operation. It reads depth and water temperature, and its tilted element layout helps aim the sonar beam straight down through the hull deadrise without using a fairing block.
This low-profile transducer suits sportfishing boats, trailerable powerboats, and fiberglass or wood hulls where a fairing block is not practical. The housing protrudes less than 6.35 mm outside the hull, which helps reduce drag and protects the fitting around trailer bunks and rollers. The B164 uses a 30 ft. cable with a Raymarine 8-pin DSM-style connector.
Key features
- Bronze through-hull body for fiberglass and wood hull installations.
- 1 kW RMS output with 50/200 kHz dual-frequency sonar for depth finding and fishfinding work.
- Built-in water temperature sensing, so one through-hull fitting can handle depth and temperature data.
- Tilted element construction helps compensate for hull deadrise and keeps the sonar beam aimed downward.
- Low-profile housing extends less than 6.35 mm outside the hull, reducing drag compared with a fairing-block installation.
- 22° beam width at 50 kHz and 6° beam width at 200 kHz for broad low-frequency coverage and narrower high-frequency detail.
- Direct 8-pin DSM-style connection for Raymarine CP370, CP300, DSM300, DSM30, and DSM250 systems.
- Compatible with other Raymarine systems when the correct optional transducer adapter cable is used.
Variants
The B164 is offered in three offset options so the transducer can match the deadrise angle at the mounting location on the hull.
All variants share the same B164 through-hull format, bronze body, 1 kW 50/200 kHz sonar operation, depth and temperature sensing, and 30 ft. cable. The offset angle and supported deadrise range are the parts that change between versions.
- A102137: 0° offset for 0° to 7° deadrise. This version fits flatter mounting areas where little or no element tilt is needed to keep the beam pointing down.
- A102112: 12° offset for 8° to 15° deadrise. This version suits moderate V-hull locations where the transducer needs built-in tilt to compensate for the hull angle.
- A102113: 20° offset for 16° to 24° deadrise. This version is used on steeper V-hull sections where more offset is needed at the through-hull position.
Installation and fit
Select the offset by measuring the hull deadrise at the exact mounting location, not by using the boat model alone. A centerline location, a spot farther outboard, and a location near the transom can all have different deadrise angles on the same vessel.
The B164 is a through-hull installation, so hull access, cable routing, and sealing method should be planned before drilling. The low-profile shape is useful on trailered boats and on fast fishing hulls where water flow across the transducer face matters.
System compatibility
The transducer is fitted with a Raymarine 8-pin DSM-style connector for direct use with CP370, CP300, DSM300, DSM30, and DSM250 sonar modules. For Axiom or other Raymarine displays and modules, confirm the sonar input type and use the proper adapter cable when required.
Use on board
This transducer is a good match for anglers who want stronger conventional sonar performance than a 600 W installation can give, especially for trolling, bottom fishing, and reading structure in deeper water. It also works well for boats where a fairing block would add too much drag or interfere with trailer support points.
