These chargers use intelligent device recognition so phones, tablets, and other USB-powered devices can charge at the rate they request. Depending on the version, the installation fits either a common 1-1/8 in round mounting hole, an existing Contura switch aperture, or a 360 Panel module layout.

The 1478 configuration is a 360 Panel module that combines a 12V DC socket with a dual USB charger, so its panel format and output rating differ from the round socket-mount charger versions.
- 1046: Socket mount installation, 48V voltage. This version mounts in a common 1-1/8 in round hole and supports 48V DC systems with a 32-64V DC input range.
- 1038: Switch mount installation, 48V voltage. This version fits an existing Contura switch aperture, which works well when the charger needs to match a Contura-style helm or accessory panel.
- 1039: Switch mount installation, 24V voltage. This switch-mount version is part of the 12/24V charger range with a 9-32V DC input range, making it suitable for 24V DC installations when the panel uses a Contura aperture.
- 1045: Socket mount installation, 12/24V voltage. This round socket-mount version fits a common 1-1/8 in hole and supports both 12V and 24V DC electrical systems.

Installation and fit
Before installation, confirm the panel opening and the supply voltage. The socket-mount charger versions are meant for a common 1-1/8 in hole, while the Contura switch-mount versions use the rectangular Contura switch aperture found on many marine switch panels.
For wiring, the charger should be connected to a protected DC circuit that matches the selected voltage version. The 12/24V models are not the same as the 48V models, so matching the charger to the boat or vehicle electrical system is more important than matching only the physical mount style.
Electrical and system integration
The dual USB output is useful for keeping phones, tablets, handheld GPS units, action cameras, and Bluetooth accessories charged while underway or at the dock. The internal filtering is useful in helm and electronics areas where VHF radios, chartplotters, fishfinders, and other DC electronics may be installed nearby.

Maintenance and care
Keep the cover closed when the USB ports are not in use, especially in cockpit, console, and open-boat installations where spray, salt, and dust can reach the panel. Periodically check that the cover moves freely and that the terminals remain clean and secure after vibration, washdowns, or seasonal layup.
