Overview
The Simrad 000-13171-001 is a combined power and NMEA 2000 (N2K) cable for Simrad GO5 and Vulcan 5 displays, bringing DC power and a network drop to the unit through one harness.
It plugs into the display at one end, with bare-wire power leads for your boat’s DC system and a NMEA 2000 Micro-C connector to tie into an existing backbone or a nearby T-connector.
This is a practical way to keep a small helm install tidy when you want the GO5 on the network for shared data such as engine gateways, heading sensors, wind instruments, or autopilot components.
Key features
- Single harness that handles both display power and NMEA 2000 connectivity
- NMEA 2000 Micro-C connector for a standard N2K backbone connection
- Bare-wire power leads for clean routing to a switched DC feed and negative bus
- Fits GO5 and Vulcan 5 units that use this combined power and N2K harness style
- Reduces extra splices and adapters behind the dash when space is tight
Compatibility and fit
This cable matches GO5 and Vulcan 5 displays that accept the combined power and NMEA 2000 harness connection. If your unit uses a different power plug style, or you are wiring a different screen size or generation, confirm the connector style at the back of the display before ordering.
Installation and setup
Route the cable from the back of the display to your power distribution and the NMEA 2000 backbone with enough slack to pull the unit forward for service. Protect the jacket anywhere it passes through fiberglass, a console chase, or a sharp edge, and secure it so it cannot rub under vibration.
Connect the power leads to a switched supply and a solid ground, using an appropriately sized fuse or breaker for the display circuit. Plug the NMEA 2000 Micro-C end into a T-connector on a properly powered and terminated NMEA 2000 backbone.
Use cases on board
This harness makes sense on boats where the GO5 is the main screen at the helm and you want it on NMEA 2000 without running separate power and drop cables. It fits well on small center consoles, skiffs, and compact sailboat helms where access behind the panel is limited and clean cable management matters.
