Overview
The TACO Marine V21-9906WHC60D-1 is a Frosty White rigid vinyl Flex-Core rub rail for replacing or upgrading the protective rail around a boat’s gunwale. It uses a 2-inch high profile with an approximate 7/8-inch width, supplied in a 60-foot continuous coil so the rail can wrap the hull with fewer visible interruptions.
This rub rail pairs a rigid PVC outer cap with a lighter high-density inner core, giving it the traditional look of a rigid vinyl rail while making handling and bending more manageable during installation. The continuous coil format helps reduce butt joints around the boat, which is useful on runabouts, fishing boats, flats boats, bay boats, and other medium-size hulls where a clean sheer line matters.
The rail is drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 8-inch centers, and it requires the S11-4511 insert to complete the installation. The Frosty White finish is a practical match for many white hulls and deck lines, especially when the goal is a clean replacement rather than a contrasting rub rail.
Key features
- Rigid vinyl Flex-Core rub rail with a 2-inch by approximately 7/8-inch profile for gunwale protection and trim replacement.
- 60-foot continuous coil reduces the need for butt joints around the hull and helps create a cleaner finished line.
- Solid rigid PVC cap stock gives the rail its traditional surface appearance and impact behavior.
- High-density inner core helps absorb everyday dockside bumps and makes the rail easier to handle during installation.
- Drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 8-inch centers, which supports a consistent fastening pattern.
- Requires S11-4511 insert, sold separately, for the finished rub rail assembly.
- Frosty White color works well for many white hulls, decks, and factory-style rub rail replacements.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
Before ordering, measure the existing rail profile and compare both the height and width against the boat’s current rub rail channel or mounting surface. This rail is commonly used on medium-size boats, but the final fit depends on the hull shape, the mounting flange, and how the existing rail was fastened.
The pre-drilled and countersunk screw pattern keeps installation more predictable, especially when replacing a rail along a long gunwale. Because the insert is required and sold separately, it should be planned as part of the same job along with the correct #8 fasteners for the hull material and mounting location.
Use on board
This rub rail is a strong match for boat owners and repair shops replacing a worn, stained, cracked, or damaged gunwale rail after years of dock contact, trailer loading, fishing use, and washdowns. The Frosty White finish keeps the look close to many factory installations and helps the rail blend into the hull rather than becoming a visual accent.
For refits, the continuous coil is helpful when the goal is a smooth perimeter with fewer joints. Careful dry fitting around tight curves, corners, and transom areas will help confirm how the rail bends before final fastening.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the rail with fresh water after saltwater use and clean it with mild boat soap during regular washdowns. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive pads that can mark the vinyl surface, especially on the Frosty White finish.
