Overview
The Garmin 010-12379-20 is a 1 kW bronze thru-hull transducer with depth and water-temperature sensing and a 12-pin connector. It runs dual-band CHIRP with a low band of 42 to 65 kHz and a high band of 130 to 210 kHz, giving you wide coverage for finding fish and tracking bottom, plus a tighter beam when you want to pick structure apart.
This model is rated for depths up to 3,000 ft on the low band and up to 1,000 ft on the high band, with beamwidths of 25 to 16 degrees (low) and 10 to 6 degrees (high). The thru-hull uses a fairing that supports deadrise angles up to 20 degrees and helps keep the flow clean at speed.
It installs through a 30 mm (1-3/16 in) hull hole and has a 121 mm (4.75 in) usable shaft length. The housing is specified for fiberglass or wood hulls, and the attached cable is 39 ft long for routing to the helm or to a sonar module.

This transducer connects to Garmin chartplotters and sonar modules that accept a 12-pin transducer plug. Confirm your display or black box has the 12-pin transducer port before ordering, and plan the cable route so it stays clear of sharp edges, moving parts, and sources of heat.
Common pairings include GPSMAP 7600xsv series displays and the GSD 25 Premium Sonar Module when the system uses a 12-pin transducer connection. If your boat already has a different connector style, the connector type needs to match the sonar hardware you are using.
Installation and setup
As a thru-hull, installation means drilling a 30 mm hole, bedding the stem, and orienting the fairing so the transducer face sits correctly in the water flow. Placement matters: pick a location with clean water under way, away from strakes, steps, intakes, and turbulence that can cause dropouts at speed.
Because this is a bronze housing and a permanent hull penetration, take the same care you would with any underwater fitting: proper sealant, correct torque, and a final leak check after launch. If you are not comfortable cutting a thru-hull, this is the kind of job many owners hand to a marine installer.
