Overview
The Vimar VM20008.0 is a 1-pole, normally-open (momentary) push-button mechanism rated 10 A at 250 V~ and built to accept an optional locator/indicator light. It is a 1-module device meant for flush mounting, so it sits cleanly in a console, cabin bulkhead panel, or electrical backbox where you want a push action that returns when released.
This mechanism measures 22.3 mm wide, 49.0 mm high, and 34.6 mm deep, and it carries an IP40 protection rating for protected interior locations. The body is thermoplastic and halogen-free, with a matt anthracite finish (similar to RAL 7024) and a small label area for circuit identification.
It is supplied as the mechanism only and is intended to be completed with a compatible 1-, 2-, or 3-module button from the same system, depending on the plate layout you are building.
Key features
- 1P NO momentary push-button action for control functions that should not latch on
- Electrical rating: 10 A at 250 V~
- Lightable mechanism for use with compatible illuminated button/lighting accessories
- 1-module format with flush-mount installation and engage (snap) fastening
- IP40 protection for dry, protected interior panels and enclosures
- Thermoplastic, halogen-free construction with matt anthracite finish (similar to RAL 7024)
- Compact body: 22.3 mm (W) x 49.0 mm (H) x 34.6 mm (D)
- Label space/information surface for clear circuit marking at the panel
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting depth before you cut the panel or select the backbox, since the mechanism body is 34.6 mm deep. It is designed to snap into a compatible modular support, then be finished with the correct button and cover plate for your Eikon layout. Once installed, keep the labeling area visible so the function is obvious at a glance at the helm or inside the cabin.
For marine wiring, treat it like any other interior switching device: keep it out of direct spray, route conductors with strain relief, and use proper protection upstream for the circuit you are controlling. This type of momentary contact is commonly used to trigger relays, contactors, horns, or control inputs where you want a deliberate press-and-release action.
Compatibility and fit
This is an Eikon-format mechanism intended to be paired with a matching 1-, 2-, or 3-module button, depending on the button style and the plate configuration. The IP40 rating makes it a better match for cabin and console interiors than exposed cockpit locations, unless it is installed inside a suitable protective enclosure.
Use on board
It suits boats that use modular wall-plate style controls and want a clean momentary push point for functions such as a signal, reset, or a relay-driven load. It is also a good match when you want the option of a lighted button position for low-light operation in cabins or inside a covered helm console.
