Overview

The Vimar ARKÉ Series is a modular 1P 1-way switch range for 250 V circuits with a 20AX rating, optional exchangeable LED lighting, and screw-terminal wiring. It is available in 1-module and 2-module formats, with flush-mounted installation, snap fastening, and IP40 protection.

For boat interiors and other protected onboard spaces, this style of switch works well when you need a clean modular layout that matches an ARKÉ installation already planned into the panel or bulkhead. The 1-module versions measure 22.3 mm wide, 49 mm high, and 36.9 mm deep, while the 2-module versions are 44.8 mm wide with the same height, depth, and 26 mm built-in depth. The body is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt lacquered finish, and the switch is rated up to 250 W for self-ballasted lamps.

Compatibility and fit

This switch is meant for ARKÉ modular installations, so the fit check starts with the rest of the ARKÉ system already in the boat or specified for the build. Confirm the correct 1-module or 2-module opening, allow for the 36.9 mm body depth and wiring space behind the panel, and keep in mind that the device itself does not use an integral mounting plate.

Because protection is IP40, it makes more sense in cabins, saloons, heads, galleys, interior helm panels, and other covered areas. It is not the right choice for exposed deck locations, washdown zones, or places that stay wet with salt spray.

Installation and setup

Wire termination is by screw terminal, which suits tidy panel work and service access during refits. When space behind the mounting surface is limited, the built-in depth is one of the first measurements to check, especially in shallow joinery panels and helm console sections.
