Overview
The B&G 000-14955-002 is a wired speed, depth, and wind instrument pack built around the Triton2 multi-purpose display and a NMEA 2000 network. It brings your primary sailing numbers together at the helm, with a 4.1-inch color screen (320 x 240) that stays readable in bright daylight and can shift to night-friendly lighting when you are running after dark.
The Triton2 display is rated IPx7 for exposure to spray and washdowns, draws 3 LEN from the network, and uses about 1.8 W in normal use. Once your NMEA 2000 backbone is powered, the display runs with it, so there is no separate power switch to manage during startup or shutdown.
This pack pairs the display with a WS310 masthead wind sensor on a 20 m mast cable and a DST810 through-hull depth, speed, and temperature transducer. It is a practical fit for sailboats upgrading from older analog instruments or building a clean NMEA 2000 instrument network from scratch.
Key features
- Triton2 4.1-inch color display with 320 x 240 resolution for clear instrument pages at the helm
- IPx7 waterproof rating for cockpit mounting where spray and washdowns are expected
- NMEA 2000 networked display that draws 3 LEN and runs from the powered backbone
- Sailing-focused pages and functions including SailSteer and WindPlot for trimming and tactical awareness
- WS310 wired wind sensor package with a 20 m mast cable and wired interface for NMEA 2000 integration
- DST810 through-hull transducer providing depth, speed-through-water, and water temperature data onto the network
- Backbone starter kit included to build or extend a NMEA 2000 network for power and shared data
What’s included
- Triton2 digital display
- DST810 depth, speed, and temperature through-hull transducer (plastic housing)
- NMEA 2000 backbone starter kit
- WS310 wired wind sensor
- 20 m wind mast cable
- WS310 wired interface
Installation and setup
Plan the install as a small NMEA 2000 system: mount the display where it is easy to read from the helm, then build the backbone with proper termination and a fused power feed. The display connects by a Micro-C drop to a T on the backbone and will come online whenever the network is energized.
The WS310 wind sensor mounts at the masthead, with the mast cable run down the spar and into the boat to the wired interface, which then connects to the NMEA 2000 backbone. The DST810 transducer installs through the hull and feeds speed-through-water, depth, and temperature onto the same network, keeping the wiring simple once the backbone is in place.
Compatibility and system integration
This pack is built for boats using NMEA 2000. Wind, speed, depth, and temperature are shared over the backbone, so other NMEA 2000 displays and chartplotters on board can use the same sensor data.
The Triton2 can also show information such as heading, GPS, AIS, and autopilot status when those sources are available on the network. That makes it a good center display for instrument data even on boats with a mixed electronics suite, as long as the data is present on NMEA 2000.
Use cases on board
This setup suits coastal cruisers and club racers who want wired masthead wind data, speed-through-water, and depth presented clearly at the helm with sailing-focused pages. It also works well for refits where you want a straightforward NMEA 2000 backbone that can grow later with heading sensors, AIS, or autopilot components.
Maintenance and care
For long life in a saltwater cockpit, rinse salt residue when practical and wipe the display with a soft cloth. During routine checks, inspect mast cable routing for chafe and confirm NMEA 2000 connections stay tight and dry, especially where the system passes through lockers and the mast base area.
