Overview
The Lumishore 010-04364-00 is a 300 mm LUX SL180 strip light that outputs full-spectrum CRGBW plus tunable white from 2700K to 6500K.
It uses a 5-channel LED layout (warm white, cold white, red, green, blue) with 180 LEDs per meter for a smooth look along the strip. The strip is IP68-rated and fully encapsulated and potted, making it a good fit for wet areas on a boat, but it is intended for above-water installation only.
With a slim 14.5 mm x 5 mm cross section, it fits neatly under gunwales, in toe-kicks, inside lockers, along steps, or under hardtops where a traditional fixture is too bulky.
Key features
- 300 mm (1 ft) strip length with a 14.5 mm x 5 mm profile for tight mounting locations
- CRGBW output with tunable white (2700K to 6500K) for matching cabin, cockpit, and accent lighting tones
- 180 LEDs per meter for continuous-looking light along the strip
- IP68-rated, fully encapsulated and potted construction for marine environments; for above-water applications only
- Mounts with adhesive backing and can be secured with screw clips for added hold in vibration-prone areas
- Powered through a LUX Strip Light Driver; multiple strips can be run on one driver up to 10 m total
- Control via a compatible LUX lighting command center or a customer-supplied momentary switch; dimmable operation
Installation and setup
Plan the run first and dry-fit the strip so the cable exits where it can be routed cleanly. For adhesive mounting, start with a clean, dry surface and avoid installing over textured gelcoat or areas that stay oily. In spots that see heat, spray, or regular flexing, using screw clips for strain relief helps keep the strip seated over time.
Keep connections and the driver in a protected location above the bilge, and leave a little service loop so the strip is not carrying cable tension. This strip is meant for above-water mounting, even though the strip itself is sealed.
Electrical and system integration
This strip does not wire straight to ship's power by itself; it runs from a LUX Strip Light Driver. Driver options include a voltage-stabilized model that accepts 10.5 to 31V DC and a non-stabilized model rated for 23 to 25V DC, so it can be integrated into common DC systems when the correct driver is used.
For longer layouts, extension cables are available in 1 m through 5 m lengths, and 2-way and 3-way splitters can help when branching into multiple zones. Control can be as simple as a momentary switch, or it can be handled through a compatible command center when a more integrated lighting setup is in place.
Use on board
This strip is a solid fit for boaters adding low-profile courtesy lighting in cabins and cockpits, or for accent lighting under cap rails, steps, and seating. The mix of color channels and tunable white is useful when you want red for night running, cooler white for task areas, and warmer tones for the cabin without swapping fixtures.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue from exposed mounting areas during routine washdowns and avoid abrasive cleaners on the strip surface. Periodically check that the strip is still firmly seated and that any clips and cable runs remain secure, especially on boats that see heavy vibration or frequent temperature swings.
