Overview
The Attwood Marine P340 is a black replacement bushing for seat bases that use a 3/4 inch pin-post pedestal. It is the wear insert that sits between the post and base, so it becomes an important part when a seat starts to feel loose, turns roughly, or develops extra play.
This is a small service part, but it has a direct effect on how a pedestal seat feels underway and at rest. Replacing a worn bushing can freshen the fit at the base without replacing the whole pedestal assembly, which is useful on boats that still have sound seat hardware and only need attention at the contact point.
Key features
- Replacement bushing for seat bases built around a 3/4 inch pin-post pedestal
- Black nylon insert used at the wear point between the pedestal post and seat base
- Helpful when a seat begins to rock, squeak, or lose its snug swivel feel from bushing wear
- Lets you service the base instead of replacing the full pedestal, post, and seat mount
Compatibility and fit
Check your seating hardware carefully before ordering. This part is meant for 3/4 inch pin-post pedestal setups and is the bushing insert only, not a complete base, post, swivel, or mounting plate.
It makes the most sense when you are keeping an existing Attwood or Swivl-Eze style pedestal system in service and need to restore the fit at the seat base. If your boat uses another post diameter or a different pedestal design, this will not be the right replacement.
Installation and use
Installation is straightforward during normal seat-hardware service. Remove the worn insert from the base, inspect the mating pin and base opening for damage or heavy wear, and fit the new bushing in place before reassembling the seat.
This kind of repair is especially useful on helm seats, cockpit seats, and fishing seats where people swivel in and out often. When the rest of the pedestal hardware is still in good shape, replacing the bushing is a practical way to tighten the seat back up and keep the seating position feeling stable on the water.
