Overview
The Lumishore 010-04484-00 is a 2.5 m ECLIPSE SL100 LED strip light that switches between blue and white light for indirect and accent lighting on board. It runs on 12 V DC systems (10 to 15 V input range) and draws up to 0.5 A (6 W) per meter.
The strip is fully encapsulated and potted with an IP68 rating, so it holds up in wet areas and during routine washdowns, while keeping a low profile at 10.8 mm x 4.0 mm. It is UV resistant and salt spray tested for typical coastal and offshore exposure.
You can cut it to length in 50 mm steps and seal the cut end before mounting. It can be installed inside or outside, but it is not intended to be permanently submerged.
Key features
- 2.5 m dual-color strip with blue and white output (white is 5000 K)
- 12 V DC only, operating range 10 to 15 V
- Maximum draw of 0.5 A (6 W) per meter
- IP68-rated, fully encapsulated and potted construction
- LED density: 60 blue LEDs per meter and 60 white LEDs per meter
- Cut-to-length installation in 50 mm increments with a sealed cut end
- Adhesive backing, with support for screw-clip retention where extra hold is needed
- Control options include on/off switching or use with an ECLIPSE Command Center for dimming, zone control, and strobe functions
Compatibility and fit
This strip light is for 12 V DC boats only, so it is a match for typical 12 V house systems and DC distribution panels. The low-profile strip (10.8 mm x 4.0 mm) fits neatly in tight channels, behind trim, under gunwales, and along toe-kicks where you want light without seeing the fixture.
Plan for the strip’s handling limits during routing: it has a 50 mm bend radius in the vertical axis, and it should not be twisted or bent in the horizontal axis.
Installation and setup
For clean results, dry-fit the run first and keep the strip laid out flat and straight as you work. Longer runs are easier with two people so the strip stays supported and does not kink while uncoiling.
Mount to a clean, dry surface so the adhesive can bond well, and avoid pressing directly over the LED area during installation. In areas that see vibration, heat, or frequent washdowns, mechanical retention with screw clips helps keep the run in place over time.
If you need to shorten the length, cut only at the marked cut points (50 mm steps) and seal the cut end before installing in service areas exposed to moisture.
Electrical and control
Wiring is a simple two-wire DC hookup with an appropriately sized fuse in the supply line. The dual-color version uses separate channels for blue and white, and both channels should not be powered at the same time.
When wired to a switch, a three-position on/off/on style setup is used to select between colors. When used with an ECLIPSE Command Center, control can be handled from a smart device or multifunction display, and features can include dimming, zone control, and strobe. For Command Center installations, strip lights can be run up to 20 m per zone.
Use on board
This strip is a good fit for boaters who want blue light for low-glare night ambiance and white light for general visibility without changing fixtures. Common placements include under-gunwale lighting for fishing setups, cockpit seating accents, cabin coves, and behind panels or furniture for soft indirect light.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue and wipe the strip with mild soap and water as needed, especially in cockpit and transom areas. Periodically check that the adhesive bond and any mechanical retention points remain tight, and inspect wiring connections for corrosion protection. If the strip has been cut, confirm the sealed end remains intact so water does not migrate into the strip.
