Overview
The Lumishore 010-04481-00 is a 2.5 m white LED strip light for indirect onboard lighting where you want an even line of light without a bulky fixture.
It runs on 12V DC systems (10 to 15V) and outputs white light at 5000 K with 60 LEDs per meter. The strip is fully encapsulated, carries an IP68 rating, and is suited for indoor spaces and exposed areas that see spray and washdowns, while it is not intended for permanent submersion.
For planning fit, the strip body is 10.8 mm wide by 4.0 mm thick, and the end cap is 12.0 mm by 5.2 mm.
Key features
- 2.5 m length, cut in 50 mm steps; seal the cut end after trimming to keep the assembly watertight.
- 12V DC only (10 to 15V) with a simple 2-wire installation.
- Power draw rated at 0.5 A per meter (6 W/m) for straightforward circuit sizing.
- IP68-rated, fully encapsulated and potted construction with UV resistance and salt spray testing.
- 5000 K white output with 60 LEDs per meter for a clean line of light in channels and coves.
- Adhesive backing for fast mounting; screw clips can be added where vibration, wet areas, or tighter bends need extra hold.
- Supports basic on/off switching; can be dimmed and grouped into zones when used with an ECLIPSE Command Center.
Installation and setup
Lay the strip out straight before you start and avoid kinks or tight coils. For the adhesive to hold, the mounting surface needs to be clean and free of dust and oils. Press along the edges of the strip during installation and avoid pushing directly on the LEDs.
After placing it, give the adhesive time to set before powering the light on. In outdoor runs, wet areas, or places with tighter bend radii, use mechanical fasteners in addition to the adhesive backing, and place fasteners at regular intervals so the strip stays put over time.
If you cut the strip to length, only cut at the marked cut points, then seal the cut end with the end cap so water cannot track into the strip.
Electrical and system integration
This strip is intended for 12V DC circuits. Plan a fused feed sized for the total installed length using the rated 0.5 A per meter draw. At the full 2.5 m length, that is 1.25 A total (about 15 W at 12V).
Keep connections secure and protected in the same way you would any other low-voltage marine circuit, especially in lockers, under gunwales, and other spaces that see moisture and vibration.
Compatibility and fit
The low profile cross section helps it tuck into trim channels, under steps, behind coamings, and beneath cabinetry. Confirm you have enough depth for the end cap where the lead exits, and plan bends so the strip is not forced into a radius that fights the adhesive.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for boats with a 12V house system that want white light in places where a rigid fixture is awkward, such as under toe-kicks, along cockpit seating bases, inside cabin coves, or behind valances. It works well for walking-light levels and general accent lighting where you want the source hidden and the glow even.
Maintenance and care
Periodically check that the strip is still fully supported, especially in high-heat or high-spray areas, and re-secure any spots that have lifted before they collect dirt or moisture. Clean with mild soap and water and avoid harsh chemical cleaners on the strip and end caps.
