Overview

The Simrad 000-15651-001 is a wired external speaker that lets you hear VHF traffic and alerts away from the handset, which helps when the helm or cockpit is noisy.

It works with Simrad blackbox VHF systems such as RS100, RS100-B, V100, and V100-B, and it is also used with the NRS-1 and NRS-2 VHF series. A 5 m (16.4 ft) cable is included for flexible routing.

Speaker volume is managed from the wired handset it is assigned to, so you can balance levels across different listening positions on board.

Installation and setup

Mount the speaker where it faces the working position and where the rear of the unit can stay dry and ventilated. Route the cable with a drip loop, protect any bulkhead pass-through with a grommet, and keep the run clear of high-current DC wiring to reduce the chance of noise pickup.

After the speaker is connected and assigned in the VHF system, adjust volume from the wired handset. When multiple SP100 speakers are installed, per-speaker offsets help keep volume consistent between a speaker that is close by and one that is farther away.
