Overview

The Lumishore 010-14467-00 is a 0.2 m (7.5 in) DMX extension cable used to link Lumishore driver modules in series or add a small amount of reach in a DMX lighting run.

It is commonly used when the standard 5 m DMX cable included with 2 x EOS Light Sets does not quite reach between modules or around a bulkhead, so the connection can be made without putting the cable under tension.

Route the cable so it is not supporting its own weight at the connectors. Leave a small service loop, secure the run with cushioned clamps or tidy tie-downs, and protect it from chafe at cutouts and sharp edges.

On boats, cable runs often pass through lockers, transom spaces, and helm panels. Keep connections where they are less likely to sit in water, and avoid pinch points around hatches, sliding panels, and steering components.

Use cases on board

This is a good match for refits and new installs where driver modules are mounted in an engine room, lazarette, under a gunwale, or behind the helm, and you need a short jumper to reach the next module without rerouting the whole run.

Maintenance and care

As part of routine checks, inspect the cable for chafe and make sure it has not been pinched or pulled tight as equipment shifts. If modules are removed for service, support the connectors during disconnect and reconnect so the cable is not twisted or stressed.
