Overview
The Perko 1609DP0CHR is a folding LED all-round white navigation light for tower or arch mounting on power-driven vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft.) in length. It runs on a nominal 12 volt circuit, draws 1.5 watts and 0.1 amps, and carries a 2-mile USCG rating.
This is a fixed-mount light with a fold-down, adjustable angle, so it can stand up as a 360 degree all-round light for night operation or while anchored, then fold forward when the boat is at the dock or when the tower needs to stay clear for daytime skiing or boarding. The assembly uses a black polymer top and base, a clear fluted lens, a frosted globe, and a 3/4" anodized pole.
The main fit point to confirm before buying is the mounting location. This model mounts on 7/8" diameter tubing, which makes it a match for many arches and wake towers rather than flat deck or plug-in base installations.
Key features
- 360 degree white all-round navigation light for power-driven vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft.)
- 2-mile USCG certified visibility
- Fixed tower or arch mount with fold-down, adjustable angle
- Fits 7/8" diameter tubing
- 12 volt LED light with low draw at 1.5 watts and 0.1 amps
- Black polymer housing with clear fluted lens, frosted globe, and 3/4" anodized pole
- Can be used as a cockpit courtesy light when folded down at the dock
- Reduced-glare layout that helps keep the light easier on the eyes at night
Installation and fit
Check the tubing size and mounting position first. This light is built for 7/8" diameter tube mounting, and the fold-down angle gives more flexibility on arches or towers where a straight upright pole would sit in the wrong position or get in the way during storage and daytime use.
Electrical integration is straightforward on a 12V boat. On a 24V system, it needs the correct 12V feed before installation. Because the draw is only 0.1 amps, it keeps the load on the lighting circuit low, which is helpful on smaller boats and on towers where wire runs can be longer.
Use on board
This light makes sense on tower-equipped powerboats that need an all-round white light at night without leaving a pole standing up during the day. It fits well on wake and ski boats, as well as other powerboats with an arch or tower tube in the right size and location.
