Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 1168 is a 120/240V AC 360 Panel System module with one installed 50A triple-pole C-Series flat rocker breaker. It is built for boats that need a compact main AC breaker section in a Blue Sea modular panel layout, with a rocker-style actuator and backlit label positions for easier circuit identification.
This module measures 4.75 in high, 4.88 in wide, and 3.00 in deep. The layout includes spare rocker apertures that can be used for single-pole 120V AC or double-pole 240V AC branch circuits, which helps when you are building out a panel around the way the boat is actually wired.
Key features
- One installed 7565 C-Series flat rocker breaker with triple-pole 50A AC main protection
- Built for 120/240V AC systems
- Backlit circuit label positions with green LED illumination
- 360 Panel System configuration includes spare rocker apertures for single-pole 120V AC or double-pole 240V AC branch circuits
- Compact panel size of 4.75 in x 4.88 in with 3.00 in depth behind the panel
Compatibility and fit
This module fits best in a Blue Sea 360 Panel System where a triple-pole 50A main breaker is required for a 120/240V AC service. The main fit checks are your AC system voltage, the need for a triple-pole breaker, and the space available behind the mounting surface for the 3.00 in depth.
It is a practical match for refits and new installations on larger cruising boats, sportfishing boats, and other vessels that carry a 120/240V AC distribution system rather than a simple single-voltage AC setup.
Installation and setup
On board, this type of module usually sits at the main AC distribution point where incoming AC service is brought into the panel. The flat rocker format keeps operation straightforward, and the illuminated label area helps when the panel is mounted in a cabin, utility area, or another space that is often checked in low light.
Because this is part of the 360 Panel System, it makes sense when you are planning a panel with more than one function and want the breaker section to sit cleanly with the rest of the modules. The spare rocker apertures also leave room for additional branch circuit switching within the same panel layout.
