Overview
The Raymarine E70258 is a CP570 black box CHIRP sonar module for offshore fishing systems that need high-resolution fishfinding through a compatible Raymarine multifunction display. It uses dual independent wide-spectrum CHIRP sonar channels from 25 to 250 kHz and can deliver up to 4 kW of combined output with two 2 kW channels when matched with suitable transducers.
This module fits boats that work beyond shallow coastal water, with bottom tracking and fish targeting capability down to 10,000 ft (3,000 m), dependent on the connected transducer and conditions. It connects to the Raymarine network through a RayNet 10/100 Mb/s network connection and runs on 12/24 V DC systems, which makes it a practical match for many sportfishing boats, center consoles, and offshore cruising vessels already using Raymarine displays.
Key features
- Dual independent 2 kW CHIRP sonar channels allow two frequency ranges or transducers to be viewed and controlled separately.
- Wide-spectrum CHIRP coverage from 25 to 250 kHz supports low, medium, and high CHIRP transducer options for different depth ranges and fishing styles.
- Depth capability reaches up to 10,000 ft (3,000 m), depending on transducer selection, installation, and water conditions.
- TruZoom magnification helps enlarge fish targets, bait, and bottom structure without the usual loss of sonar image resolution.
- Automatic transducer recognition adjusts sonar parameters after a compatible transducer is connected.
- IPX6 waterproof rating and an aluminum enclosure suit protected marine mounting areas where spray, vibration, and heat are part of daily use.
- RayNet network connection integrates the sonar image with compatible Raymarine chartplotter and multifunction display systems.
Compatibility and system integration
The CP570 is made for Raymarine display networks and is commonly used with aSeries, cSeries, eSeries, and gS Series multifunction displays. Each CHIRP channel can be viewed and controlled independently, so an angler can monitor different parts of the water column or compare sonar views on full-screen and split-screen display layouts.
Transducer choice matters with this module. Low CHIRP is typically used for deeper water, high CHIRP gives more target detail in shallower ranges, and medium CHIRP sits between those use cases. The CP570 supports optional low, medium, and high CHIRP transducers in standard and wide-beam versions, giving the installer flexibility to match the sonar setup to hull type, fishing grounds, and display layout.
Installation and mounting
The module measures 13.9 in wide, 9.8 in high, and 4.3 in deep, so it should be planned into a dry, serviceable electronics area with room for cabling and heat clearance. It has separate connections for power, RayNet networking, and transducers, which helps keep the installation tidy when mounted near other navigation electronics.
With a maximum power consumption of 30.6 W and support for 12/24 V DC input, the CP570 can be added to many existing marine electrical systems when wired with the correct protection and cable routing. As with any high-output sonar installation, transducer placement and cable runs should be handled carefully to reduce interference and keep bottom tracking consistent at speed.
Use cases on board
This sonar module is a strong fit for offshore anglers, charter captains, and tournament crews who need more than a basic fishfinder. It is especially useful when the boat needs to read bait, game fish, thermoclines, and bottom changes across a wide range of depths.
For boats that already run compatible Raymarine displays, the CP570 adds a dedicated sonar processor without replacing the helm display. That makes it useful for refits where the navigation system is staying in place but the fishfinding side needs more power, better target separation, and deeper CHIRP performance.
