Overview
The Simrad 000-11465-001 is a 4-foot open array radar antenna assembly for a HALO pulse compression radar installation, used when you need the antenna array without replacing the pedestal.
It mounts to a compatible HALO radar pedestal and rotates when the radar is running, so it needs a clear sweep area and enough height for the beam to clear the boat’s structure. This item is the antenna only, not the pedestal, interface module, or display.
After installation, set the radar setup to the 4-foot antenna length and run bearing alignment so radar targets line up correctly with your heading and chart.
Key features
- 4-foot open array antenna (4 ft / 1.2 m) for Simrad HALO radar systems
- Antenna-only replacement part that fits to a HALO radar pedestal
- Specified as a 50 Ohm WR-90 waveguide antenna for the HALO system
- Open-array rotation requires a clear turning circle with no rigging, flags, or loose lines nearby
- Mounting guidance calls out avoiding strong vibration at the scanner location to prevent performance issues
- 4-foot option within the HALO open-array family (3 ft, 4 ft, and 6 ft antenna lengths)
Compatibility and fit
This is the 4-foot array option used on HALO open-array installations. It matches systems where the radar setup supports selecting a 4-foot antenna length.
If your boat currently runs a different HALO array length, confirm the rest of your scanner package is intended to be configured as a 4-foot system before changing anything in the installation.
Installation and setup
Choose a mounting position where the array can spin freely and the radar beam is not blocked by the hardtop, mast, outriggers, or other gear. Keep it away from halyards and flags on sailboats so nothing can wrap around the array while the wind is up.
Once the antenna is fitted and secured, go through the radar setup on your display: select the 4-foot antenna length, enter antenna height, and complete bearing alignment. If you use sector blanking, recheck the masked sectors after any change in mounting position.
Safety and care
This is a rotating antenna and it transmits microwave energy when the radar is on. Keep people out of the turning circle, and shut the radar down before working on the array or anything in its beam.
In saltwater use, rinse off salt spray during regular washdowns and recheck fasteners after the first few runs to confirm everything has stayed tight.
Who it suits
This antenna is a practical match when you already have a Simrad HALO open-array radar pedestal and need the 4-foot array length, or when you are replacing an existing array that has been damaged.
