Overview
The Lopolight 400-407 is a K-lock to FB adaptor that lets an FB-type navigation light mount onto a K-Lock base, excluding the 180-degree light versions.
It is a mechanical mounting part with no electrical load on the boat: current consumption is 0 mA at 12 VDC and 24 VDC. The Version 2 interface is made to seal between the light and the K-Lock base, which helps keep water out of the joint where spray, washdowns, and vibration tend to work on fittings.
For fit planning, the adaptor has an outside diameter of 92.5 mm and an overall height of 18.2 mm. The body is POM (acetal), so it will not corrode in saltwater environments.
Key features
- Mounts an FB-type Lopolight navigation light onto a standard K-Lock base (not for 180-degree light versions)
- Version 2 sealing interface between the light and the K-Lock base for a watertight joint
- Mechanical accessory with 0 mA draw at 12 VDC and 24 VDC
- 92.5 mm outside diameter and 18.2 mm overall height to help confirm clearance at the mounting location
- POM (acetal) construction that will not corrode in marine environments
Compatibility and fit
This adaptor is for installations that have a K-Lock mounting base in place and need to use an FB-type navigation light. It is not intended for K-Lock bases used with 180-degree light configurations.
Before ordering, confirm the base style on the boat and the light interface type. The adaptor footprint is 92.5 mm across, so check for nearby hardware, rails, or mast fittings that could interfere with the lock-in action.
Installation and setup
Installation is straightforward: the adaptor locks onto the K-Lock base, and the FB-type light mounts to the adaptor in the same position it would normally use for the FB interface. Make sure the mating surfaces are clean so the seal seats properly.
After mounting, verify the light is locked fully and oriented correctly for its required arc of visibility. A quick hose-down check around the joint is a sensible final step on open deck and mast installations.
On-board use notes
This is a practical part for refits where you want to keep existing K-Lock bases but change the light style at the mounting point. It also suits yards and owners standardizing mounting bases across a vessel while still using FB-type lights where that interface is needed.
