Overview
The Garmin 010-02879-00/LIVESCOPE is a 10-inch ECHOMAP Ultra 2 102sv chartplotter and fishfinder bundle with a 1280 x 800 keyed-assist touchscreen, an IPX7 water rating, and a LiveScope Plus LVS34 transducer for live-scanning sonar.
It runs on 9 to 18 VDC, with a typical draw around 2.5 A at 12 VDC and up to 5.0 A at 12 VDC, which makes it a straightforward fit for most 12 V boats when wired on a clean, fused electronics circuit. Mapping is onboard with Garmin Navionics+ Inland & Coastal, and the unit supports both bail and flush mounting for helm, console, or electronics box installs.
For sonar, the unit has built-in CHIRP traditional and built-in ClearVü and SideVü support (600 W output) through its 12-pin scanning sonar port, and it also supports LiveScope viewing. If you are upgrading an existing network, it helps that the unit includes NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 compatibility along with two Garmin Marine Network ports.

Installation and setup
For most fishing boats, the bail mount works well on the console where you can tilt the screen to cut glare and still reach the keyed-assist controls. If you are flush mounting, leave room behind the unit for the cable bend radius and airflow, and plan access for microSD cards and network connections before you cut the panel.
Because the unit takes 9 to 18 VDC, it is happiest on a stable 12 V supply. If your boat is primarily 24 V, plan a dedicated DC-DC conversion to a clean 12 V electronics feed rather than tapping a mixed circuit that can introduce noise or voltage drop.
System integration and compatibility
For shared data like heading, GPS sources, engine data gateways, or audio control, NMEA 2000 is the cleanest path, and NMEA 0183 is there for older sensors and radios that still use serial connections. The two Garmin Marine Network ports make it easier to add a wired sonar module or link to other compatible Garmin displays without immediately needing an external switch.
LiveScope Plus sonar uses a GLS 10 sonar black box and connects to the chartplotter over Garmin Marine Network. Mount the black box in a dry, protected location, keep transducer and network cables away from high-current runs where possible, and secure everything for vibration so connectors do not work loose on rough water.
Use on board
This setup fits anglers who want one screen that covers navigation, structure scanning, and live sonar for working docks, brush piles, rock edges, and suspended fish. It also suits bass boats, bay boats, and center consoles where the display needs to stay readable in sun and spray while you are running and while you are fishing off the bow.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt spray off the screen and connectors with a light freshwater wipe after the trip, and check cable clamps and mount hardware a couple of times each season. A little attention to strain relief and connector seating goes a long way on boats that see regular vibration and trailering.
