Overview
The Blue Sea Systems Terminal Block 65A is a closed-back terminal block for organizing independent AC or DC circuits on a boat. The range is rated for 65A continuous service and up to 600V AC/DC, with versions from 2 to 10 circuits so the block can match the number of connections in the panel, console, battery compartment, or equipment space.
Each screw pair functions as one isolated circuit, which helps keep individual feeds separated instead of tying them together by default. When a common circuit is needed, compatible 65A terminal block jumpers can be used to link positions while keeping the installation tidy and serviceable.
The closed-back base helps insulate the conductors from the mounting surface, a useful detail when the block is fastened to fiberglass, painted metal, wood backing, or a panel structure. Nickel-plated brass bus hardware, stainless steel screw material, M5 terminal screws, and #10-32 screw sizing make this series a practical choice for marine electrical work where clean terminations and secure torque matter.
Key features
- 65A continuous rating for higher-load branch circuits and distribution points.
- 600V AC/DC maximum voltage rating for use in a wide range of marine electrical layouts.
- Closed-back construction insulates power from the mounting surface.
- Each screw pair is one isolated circuit, so connections stay separated unless a jumper is added.
- Optional 9216 jumpers allow common circuits to be created on the 2600 Series 65A terminal blocks.
- UL 94 V0 PC base, nickel-plated brass bus material, and stainless steel screw material support use in protected marine electrical locations.
- #10 [M5] mounting screw size, M5 terminal screws, #10-32 screw size, and #10 [M5] wire terminal size help confirm hardware fit before installation.
Variants
This terminal block series is offered in several circuit counts, all built around the same 65A, closed-back independent-circuit layout.
The main differences are the number of circuits, the overall length, and the space each block will occupy in the installation. The 65A continuous rating, 600V AC/DC maximum voltage rating, closed-back layout, nickel-plated brass bus material, stainless steel screw material, and #10 [M5] mounting format remain consistent across these listed configurations.
- 2602: Circuits 2, with a length of 2.51 in (63.75 mm). This size works well for a small pair of separated connections where panel or bulkhead space is limited.
- 2604: Circuits 4, with a length of 3.89 in (98.81 mm). This configuration gives extra termination points without taking up the space of the longer blocks.
- 2606: Circuits 6, with a length of 5.26 in (133.6 mm). The six-circuit layout suits mid-size distribution points with several independent loads grouped in one location.
- 2608: Circuits 8, with a length of 6.63 in (168.4 mm). This version is useful where more branch circuits need to be landed in a single organized row.
- 2610: Circuits 10, with a length of 8.01 in (203.45 mm). The ten-circuit block gives the most positions in this set and needs the most mounting length.
Installation and setup
Mount the block on a flat, secure surface where wiring can enter without strain and where the screws remain accessible for inspection or future service. The closed-back base is helpful when the block is installed on a conductive or irregular surface, but the mounting area should still be dry, protected, and appropriate for marine electrical equipment.
Use #10 [M5] mounting hardware and match ring terminals to the #10 [M5] wire terminal size. Terminal torque should be checked against the specific circuit-count version before final tightening, especially on the 10-circuit version, which has a different listed torque value than the shorter blocks.
Compatibility and fit
This series is for hard-wired terminal connections where circuits need to remain independent unless intentionally joined with a jumper. It is a good match for helm wiring, DC accessory distribution, electronics feeds, pumps, lighting circuits, and other protected onboard locations where labeled, serviceable terminations are preferred over loose inline splices.
Before ordering, confirm the circuit count and the available mounting length. Allow room not only for the block itself, but also for wire bend radius, terminal access, labeling, and any future additions that may be made during refits or electronics upgrades.
Materials and hardware
The base material is UL 94 V0 PC, the bus material is nickel-plated brass, and the screw material is stainless steel. This combination is well suited to protected marine electrical spaces where the block may see vibration, changing humidity, and routine service access.
As with any marine terminal installation, use properly crimped terminals, support the cable runs near the block, and keep the connection area clean. Periodic inspection is worthwhile on boats that see heavy vibration, salt air, or frequent equipment changes.
