Overview
The Raymarine E70240 is a 1 m Volvo Penta EVC link cable used in Raymarine engine integration setups with the ECI-100 interface. It connects the ECI-100 to the Volvo Penta EVC side of the installation so compatible Raymarine multifunction displays can receive engine data from the vessel's EVC system.
The 1 m length suits short cable runs where the interface is mounted close to the engine connection point. That matters on boats where space behind the helm or in the machinery space is limited and extra slack would be harder to route and secure. This is a system-specific cable, not a general network lead or transducer extension.
Key features
- 1 m cable length for short runs where the ECI-100 is mounted close to the Volvo Penta EVC connection point
- Used in Raymarine ECI-100 integrations with Volvo Penta EVC systems
- Lets the ECI-100 take engine data from the EVC side of the installation and pass it toward a compatible Raymarine multifunction display
- Keeps routing manageable in tighter helm consoles and machinery spaces where extra cable slack becomes a nuisance
- Fits replacement jobs where an existing 1 m Volvo EVC link cable needs to be swapped without changing the rest of the system layout
Compatibility and fit
This cable belongs in Volvo Penta EVC installations that are being tied into a Raymarine network through the ECI-100. It is not a substitute for a SeaTalkng backbone cable, a standard NMEA 2000 drop cable, or a transducer extension cable.
Before ordering, check the real cable path between the EVC connection point and the ECI-100 rather than measuring a straight line. On some Volvo Penta installations the connection is made through a Y-loom or a multi-link hub, so the existing harness layout on the boat should be matched before replacement.
Installation and setup
Route the cable away from exhaust heat, sharp edges, and moving components. Support the run so engine vibration is not carried by the connectors, and leave enough access to inspect or disconnect the link during service.
This cable is a good match for boats that already use, or are being upgraded to use, a Raymarine ECI-100 with Volvo Penta EVC. It also suits direct replacement work when the original 1 m link cable is damaged or missing and the rest of the installation remains unchanged.
