Overview
The Garmin NSPC026R is an electronic chart coverage for Australia, West (inland and coastal) that loads on compatible Garmin chartplotters. It covers the northern and western coasts from Darwin down to Ceduna, with key areas such as Perth, Bunbury, Geraldton, Broome, Esperance, Dampier, Shark Bay, and the Ashmore and Cartier Islands.
This chart range combines coastal and inland content in one region and includes a one-year subscription that unlocks daily chart updates through the ActiveCaptain app. Chart features include depth range shading, user-defined shallow water shading, and up to 1 ft (0.5 m) contours where supported by local data and your plotter.
Key features
- Region code NSPC026R coverage for Australia, West, spanning Darwin to Ceduna and including major ports and coastal areas along the way.
- Built for compatible Garmin chartplotters, with coastal and inland mapping in the same coverage area.
- One-year subscription included for daily updates through the ActiveCaptain app.
- Up to 1 ft (0.5 m) contours where available for the area you are navigating.
- Depth range shading and shallow water shading for quickly spotting the depths you care about.
- Auto Guidance+ route suggestions for planning, using the chart data available for your region.
- Offered as Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+, and in microSD/SD or Download formats.
Variants
This coverage is offered in multiple configurations based on chart version and how you receive the mapping.
Version varies between Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+. Format varies between a physical microSD/SD card and a Download option that loads map data onto your own microSD/SD card using Garmin Express. The one-year subscription for updates and supported features is activated through ActiveCaptain or Garmin Express.
- 010-C1280-20: Version Garmin Navionics+; Format microSD/SD. A physical chart card that installs by inserting it into the chartplotter’s card slot.
- 010-D1882-20: Version Garmin Navionics+; Format Download. Map data is loaded to your own microSD/SD card, which is useful when you want to manage multiple regions on dedicated cards.
- 010-C1280-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+; Format microSD/SD. Includes the same core coverage, with access to premium layers where available for the area and your device.
- 010-D1882-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+; Format Download. Loads to your own microSD/SD card and supports downloading premium content where available after activation.
Compatibility and fit
This chart is intended for compatible Garmin chartplotters that accept Garmin Navionics mapping. Confirm your plotter model supports Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ and has an available microSD/SD card slot. Keeping your chartplotter software up to date helps avoid missing features and improves chart drawing performance.
If you are using the Download format, you will also need a computer with Garmin Express and a suitable microSD/SD card to store the region data. The microSD/SD format is the quickest path when you want a ready-to-go card with no downloading required to start navigating.
Installation and setup
For microSD/SD, insert the card into the chartplotter and power up to load the charts. For Download, use Garmin Express to load the mapping to your microSD/SD card, then insert that card into the chartplotter.
Subscription activation and ongoing chart updates are handled through the ActiveCaptain app or Garmin Express, depending on how your system is set up. Updates and additional content downloaded during the subscription period remain available on the card, but new downloads require an active subscription.
Use on board
This coverage is a good match for skippers running the WA coastline, doing longer offshore legs between ports, or fishing in coastal areas where depth cues matter at a glance. It also suits boats that move between saltwater and inland waterways and want one region that keeps both types of navigation in the same chart set.
Maintenance and handling
Treat the card like any other navigation media on board: keep it dry, avoid removing it while the plotter is writing data, and store it in a case when it is not in the unit. If you keep a spare card, label it clearly so the right region stays with the right boat.
