Overview
The Garmin 010-10851-30 is a suction cup spine mount that secures a compatible Garmin handheld to a surface that is smooth and flat, such as a windshield or cabin window.
It is a practical option when you want a temporary mounting point at the helm, at the nav table, or in a pilothouse where you can glance at the screen without tying up a permanent bracket. When using an inReach Mini 2, an additional spine mount adapter is required between the device and the mount.
Key features
- Suction cup base mounts to a windshield or other surface that is smooth and flat for quick placement and removal.
- Spine-style interface for Garmin handhelds that use a spine mount connection.
- Supports Garmin GPSMAP 66 series handhelds (66i, 66s, 66sr, 66st) and inReach Mini.
- Requires an additional spine mount adapter when pairing with an inReach Mini 2.
- Useful when you move the same handheld between a vehicle, dockside planning, and onboard use without drilling holes in the boat.
Compatibility and fit
This mount is intended for Garmin handheld units that attach using a spine mount connection. It is commonly used with GPSMAP 66i, 66s, 66sr, and 66st, along with inReach Mini. For inReach Mini 2 installations, plan on the additional spine mount adapter so the device interfaces correctly with the mount.
Because suction cup mounts rely on a good seal, it works best on non-porous surfaces like glass and acrylic. Textured gelcoat, lightly grained plastics, and areas that flex can make it harder for any suction mount to stay put in chop and vibration.
Installation and setup
Start with a clean surface that is dry and free of salt film. Press the suction cup down firmly and confirm the base is holding before you clip the device into place. On a boat that sees pounding or heavy wakes, it is worth checking the seal as part of your get-underway routine, especially after temperature swings or a long day in direct sun.
Use on board
This style of mount makes sense for coastal cruising, fishing runs, and tender use where the handheld is your quick-reference navigator or messenger and you want it visible without committing to a fixed bracket. It also works well at a nav station for trip planning and syncing, then can be moved back up to the helm when it is time to get underway.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater use, wipe the suction cup and contact surfaces to remove salt and grime that can break the seal over time. Store the mount out of prolonged heat when possible, and keep the suction surface free of sunscreen and oils so it continues to hold reliably.
