Overview
The Victron Energy PIN241370500 is a 24V DC to 120V AC VE.Direct inverter with 375W continuous output at 25°C and a NEMA 5-15R outlet for standard North American AC plugs.
It fits boats with a 24V battery bank that need household-style AC power for low-draw equipment such as laptop chargers, small electronics, handheld tool chargers, and cabin accessories while away from shore power. The 24V model accepts 18.4 to 34V DC input and delivers 120VAC at 60Hz, with 300W continuous output at 40°C, 450W for 10 seconds from a cold start, and 600W peak for 2 seconds.
VE.Direct support allows monitoring and setup through VictronConnect when used with the proper VE.Direct interface cable or Bluetooth Smart dongle. For a marine installation, that makes it easier to check input voltage, output voltage, load percentage, and alarms from a phone, tablet, or computer near the vessel’s electrical system.
Key features
- Converts a 24V DC battery bank to 120V AC power through a NEMA 5-15R receptacle.
- 375W continuous output at 25°C, 300W continuous output at 40°C, 450W for 10 seconds from cold start, and 600W peak for 2 seconds.
- 18.4 to 34V DC input range suits 24V battery systems commonly used on larger boats and marine power installations.
- VE.Direct port supports monitoring and configuration with VictronConnect through the required cable or Bluetooth Smart dongle.
- ECO mode can reduce idle consumption, with adjustable stop and start power behavior for low-load use.
- Protection includes output short circuit, overload, high battery voltage, low battery voltage, high temperature, and DC ripple faults.
- IP21 enclosure with steel chassis and plastic cover is intended for a dry, protected mounting location.
- Compact 86 x 165 x 260 mm footprint and 3 kg weight help when space is limited behind panels, in lockers, or near the DC distribution area.
Installation and fit
This inverter belongs in a dry electrical space, not an exposed cockpit, deck locker subject to spray, or washdown area. Leave space for airflow around the unit, especially in warm machinery spaces or tight cabinets, because output derates above 40°C and the inverter uses fan-assisted cooling across its rated operating range.
The DC side uses screw terminals and accepts cable up to 10 mm² or 8 AWG. Battery cable length, fuse or breaker selection, and grounding should match the vessel’s DC distribution layout and marine electrical practices.
Electrical and system integration
This is an inverter only, so it does not replace a battery charger or shore power transfer system. It is suitable for creating a small 120V AC supply from a 24V house bank, while charging and AC source switching should be handled by the rest of the vessel’s electrical system.
The VE.Direct connection is useful on boats already using Victron equipment, and also for stand-alone installations where the owner wants access to low-battery thresholds, ECO mode settings, output settings, and alarm information through VictronConnect.
Use cases on board
This size should be reserved for modest AC loads rather than high-demand appliances such as kettles, cooking equipment, air conditioning, or large power tools. It is a practical match for 24V sailboats, fishing boats, and cruising vessels that need AC power for chargers, communications gear, cabin electronics, or short light-duty tool use away from the dock.
