Overview
The Vimar VM14777 is an E10 screw-base incandescent replacement lamp in a 10 x 28 mm format, rated 220 V~ and 3 W, for use in Vimar wiring devices that take this style of indicator or backlight lamp.
On a boat it commonly sits behind an illuminated switch, pilot light, or small indicator window on 220 to 230 VAC circuits fed by shore power or an inverter. It is not a 12 V or 24 V lamp, so it only applies where the switching or indicator device is actually mains voltage.
Key features
- E10 screw base with a 10 x 28 mm lamp body for a direct physical match in compatible devices.
- 220 V~ AC, 3 W rating suited to mains-voltage indicator and backlight applications.
- White incandescent light for clear status indication and switch backlighting.
- Screw-in replacement when the existing lamp is the same E10 10 x 28 mm style.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm the old lamp has an E10 screw base and the same 10 x 28 mm size before ordering. If your switch or indicator uses a plug-in neon, an LED module, or a different base, this lamp will not fit.
Match the supply voltage of the device as well. This lamp is for 220 to 230 VAC use, not low-voltage DC circuits.
Installation and setup
Isolate power at the breaker, then access the lamp holder as your device allows and unscrew the old lamp. Screw the new lamp in until it seats, without overtightening, then restore power and confirm illumination.
Use on board
This replacement lamp suits yachts and vessels that use Vimar-style interior switching where illuminated rockers and indicator windows are used in cabins, heads, and service spaces on 220 to 230 VAC circuits.
Maintenance and care
Install it inside an enclosed device where it stays protected from spray and washdowns. Keeping a spare on board is practical for boats that see frequent vibration and heavy use of illuminated switches.
