Overview

The Vimar Plana Series is a vertical pocket badge switch for flush-mounted access control setups in protected interior spaces. It uses a 16 A 250 V~ change-over relay output and supports 230 V~ 50 to 60 Hz, 24 V~ 50 to 60 Hz, or 24 Vdc SELV supply. The unit is supplied without the ISO card badge.

This is a standalone device with no network or PC interface, so it suits installations that need a self-contained badge-operated switch rather than integration with a bus or data system. Its IP20 rating, plastic body, and flush-mounted 3-module format place it in interior locations such as accommodation areas, service spaces, or controlled-access points on board where the mounting surface is protected from spray and washdowns.

Overall size is compact for panel work, with a height of 49 mm and depth of 56.8 mm. Width changes slightly by finish, so it is worth checking the trim and mounting layout when matching existing Plana fittings.

Variants

This product is offered in two finish options within the same Plana vertical pocket badge switch range.

The difference between variants is the finish color, with a small width variation between the two versions. The electrical rating, supply options, mounting method, operating temperature range, IP20 protection, and overall height and depth remain the same across both variants.

• VM14465: White finish, width 67.5 mm. This version blends more quietly into lighter cabin panels and other interiors where a neutral finish is preferred.
• VM14465.SL: Silver finish, width 67.2 mm. This version gives a more technical look on darker trims or metallic interior details.

Installation and fit

This badge switch is flush-mounted and built around a 3-module layout, so fit should be checked against the frame, box, and cover plate used in the existing Plana installation. Because the housing is IP20, it is better suited to protected interior bulkheads rather than exposed deck positions, wet lockers, or areas that see regular washdown.

The supported supply choices make it relevant for both mains-fed and low-voltage control arrangements on board. For interior refits and new-build accommodation areas, that gives more flexibility when the switch needs to sit within either a 230 V circuit or a 24 V control scheme.

Use on board

This unit suits vessels that use badge-operated switching in guest cabins, crew cabins, or other managed interior spaces where access or room functions are linked to a card insert switch.
