Overview

The Vimar VMR20523 is a 2-module EIKON-series control device with two rocker push buttons for domestic switching functions on board. It is rated for a nominal 29 V and supports integrated lighting for better visibility when the cabin lights are down.

The body is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt, untreated surface in grey (RAL 7024). With an IP40 rating, it is intended for protected interior locations where it will not be exposed to washdowns or direct spray. This mechanism is completed with interchangeable 1- or 2-module button covers, which are selected separately to match your labeling and layout.

Installation and setup

This unit is meant to sit in a flush-mounted EIKON position and snap into place as part of the modular assembly. Plan for at least 36.1 mm of depth behind the mounting surface, plus room for wiring bend radius so the mechanism does not get stressed when the panel is secured.

Because the front is finished with separate interchangeable button covers, confirm you have the correct 1- or 2-module cover style for your panel layout before closing up the installation. The lighting feature is most useful at helm and cabin panels where the control needs to be located quickly at night.

Compatibility and fit

It occupies two EIKON modules and is intended for builds that use the EIKON modular format and matching cover plates and button covers. When replacing an existing device, check that your current frame and aesthetics are EIKON-based and that your chosen covers match the function you want to label at the switch position.

Use on board

This style of two-rocker control is commonly used at interior switch panels for cabin or courtesy lighting, zoned circuits, and other onboard switching tasks where a compact two-button layout keeps the panel tidy. It is a good match for boats standardizing on EIKON components in grey and keeping controls in protected areas rather than exposed cockpits or open decks.

Maintenance and care

Wipe the surface with a soft cloth and mild cleaner as needed, and avoid harsh solvents that can mark thermoplastic finishes. If a switch position feels loose over time, recheck the snap engagement and wiring strain relief so vibration does not work the mechanism free.
