Variants

This range changes in three ways: colour, module format, and whether the button is arranged for illumination. Standard versions are available in grey or white as a 1-module device, and there are also grey and white versions that occupy 2 reduced modules.

The luminous versions are 1-module buttons in grey or white and are intended for use with a signalling unit, which is not included. The 10 A 250 V rating, single push-button operation, matt finish, halogen-free thermoplastic body, and IP40 protection stay the same across the listed versions.

Compatibility and fit

This is a good match when the boat or refit already uses Vimar IDEA supports, frames, and matching modules. Before ordering, check the panel layout for 1-module or 2 reduced-module spacing, confirm the finish you want, and verify the available depth behind the mounting point.

Because protection is IP40, it is better suited to protected cabin panels, interior helm areas, and technical spaces than to exposed deck locations or areas that see regular washdowns. For luminous versions, the signalling unit needs to be added separately during assembly.

Installation and use

The built-in format keeps the front neat and works well where several controls need to sit in one modular frame. The general symbol keeps the function neutral, which is useful on vessels where the same switch style is used across cabins, service panels, and protected control positions.

It also makes sense for owners and yards replacing one worn module without changing the rest of an existing IDEA installation. Matching the module width and colour is usually the main point to confirm before fitting.
