Overview
The Vimar VM08235 is a momentary push button with a 1-pole, normally open contact, rated 10 A at 250 V~. It closes the circuit only while you are pressing the button and returns to open when released, which suits control and signaling functions on board.
This is a built-in module that fastens by snap engagement for flush panel installations with compatible Vimar 8000 supports and cover plates. The front size is 22.00 mm wide by 50.10 mm high, with 35.00 mm depth behind the panel, so it fits in many helm and cabin switch panels where space is limited.
The face is white (RAL 9001) with a matt finish, includes a label/information surface, and it is not illuminated.

Compatibility and fit
This push button is made for the Vimar 8000 modular wiring device system. Match it with the correct Vimar 8000 mounting support and the faceplate style already used on your boat, and confirm you have at least 35 mm of clear depth behind the mounting surface for the device body and wiring bend radius.
Installation and wiring
Because it is a normally open momentary contact, it is typically wired as a press-to-activate control point for a relay, contactor coil, call circuit, or other short-duration command. Keep the connected load within the circuit requirements, and use proper overcurrent protection for the downstream wiring.
On boats, vibration and service access matter. Leave enough slack for maintenance, secure the conductors so the connections are not carrying strain, and mount it where it stays out of spray and washdown.
Use on board
This style of push button makes sense anywhere you want a deliberate action that is momentary at the panel, such as an electric horn trigger through a relay, a doorbell or call button, or a test and reset function for monitoring circuits. It is a good match for refits where you are keeping the Vimar 8000 look across the cabin and helm.
Protection and mounting location
The IP40 rating suits spaces that stay dry and protected, like cabins, pilot houses, and interior switch panels. It is not sealed against water, so for cockpits, open decks, or exposed consoles, plan on a protected mounting position or a sealed enclosure that keeps spray and washdowns off the device.
