Overview
The Vimar VM08275 is a modular, flush-mount switch insert with two independent 1-pole normally-open push buttons rated 10 A at 250 V~. It is a momentary control, so each circuit closes only while the button is pressed, which is useful for control inputs and relay triggering on board.
Each push button operates its own circuit, and both can be pressed at the same time. This type of push button is not intended for reversing the direction of motor-driven equipment; use an interlocked reversing control where direction changes are required.
The body is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matte white finish (RAL 9001 similar). With an IP40 rating, it belongs in a protected location such as an interior switch panel or console where it will not be exposed to spray or washdowns.
Key features
- Two independent 1P NO push buttons with momentary action

- IP40 protection rating for sheltered installations
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with matte white finish (RAL 9001 similar)

- Overall device height 45.0 mm and depth 37.5 mm for panel planning
Installation and setup
This is a built-in modular device that snaps into the matching Vimar mounting support and sits flush behind the faceplate system. Make sure the box or panel has enough clearance for the 37.5 mm depth and for the wiring bend radius so the mechanism is not under strain.
On boats, it is worth placing it where it will not be hit by gear or knees, and where the wiring can be secured so vibration does not work the terminals loose over time.
Electrical and system integration
Each button is a single-pole, normally-open contact. For many marine circuits it is used to trigger a relay, contactor, or control module input rather than switching larger loads directly. Stay within the 10 A, 250 V~ rating and size protection and conductors for the circuit you are controlling.
The electrical rating is specified for AC (250 V~). For DC switching or inductive loads, confirm suitability for your exact application before installation.
Compatibility and fit
This insert belongs to the Vimar 8000 wiring device range and is meant to be paired with compatible Vimar mounting supports and cover systems. The matte off-white tone (RAL 9001 similar) helps keep a consistent look when matching existing cabin switches and outlets.
Use on board
A dual momentary push button like this is a practical fit for interior helm stations, nav desks, and protected switch panels where you need two separate momentary commands, such as horn signal, door release, or triggering automation scenes. It suits boats that already use Vimar modular devices and want the same feel and labeling across the vessel.
Maintenance and care
Keep it in a dry, protected location consistent with the IP40 rating. Clean the front with a soft damp cloth and avoid solvent cleaners that can mark or haze matte thermoplastic surfaces.
