Overview
The Garmin K00-00118-01 is a replacement transom-mount bracket kit for a plastic Garmin transducer that reads depth and water temperature in the 200/50 kHz range. It is meant for the common dual-frequency transom installations found on many Garmin sounder and combo units, where the transducer hangs on the outside of the transom and stays in clean water when the boat is on plane.
This is the right fix when your existing bracket has cracked, hardware has loosened over time, or the mount took a bump from a trailer roller or a floating log. Swapping the mount lets you keep your transducer positioned correctly without changing your sonar system or rewiring the boat.
Because Garmin uses different brackets across different transducer bodies and mounting styles, it helps to confirm you have the plastic transom-mount depth and temperature transducer style before ordering.
Key features
- Replacement transom-mount bracket kit for plastic transom-mount transducers with depth and temperature sensing
- Supports dual-frequency 200/50 kHz transom-mount setups
- Intended for restoring the full transom mounting assembly when the original bracket or mounting hardware is worn or damaged
- Maintains the same style of transom installation used on many Garmin fishfinder and chartplotter sounder packages
- Practical for boats that see spray, vibration, and frequent trailering where mounts can loosen over time
Compatibility and fit
This bracket is for a plastic transom-mount transducer that provides depth and temperature and operates in the 200/50 kHz range. It is not a match for trolling-motor mounts, in-hull shoot-through installs, thru-hull transducers, or brackets meant for other transducer shapes.
If you are replacing a mount that failed, compare the transducer body and the way it interfaces with the bracket so you are not trying to force a different style into place. The mount does not change connector type or electronics, so your existing display and transducer cable remain part of the same system.
Installation and setup
Most installs are a straightforward swap: remove the old bracket from the transom, clean the area, and bed the mounting holes properly so water cannot wick into the core. Once mounted, set the transducer so it sits square to the waterline and runs in clean water, then snug everything down and re-check after the first trip as the mount settles.
Take a moment to inspect cable routing while you are there. Secure the cable so it cannot whip in the slipstream, and leave enough slack at the transducer so the mount can move normally without pulling on the cable.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the transom area after saltwater use and keep an eye on fasteners and pivots during routine checks. If you trailer often, a quick visual inspection before and after towing helps catch a loosened mount early, before it shifts and affects depth or temperature readings.
