Overview

The TACO Marine ShadeFin Mini Rail Mount is a tube-rail mounting base for the ShadeFin Mini shade system, offered for round or square boat rails. It gives boat owners a cleaner way to add removable shade where a deck mount, clamp mount, or side-wall mount is not the right fit.

The round rail version fits 7/8" to 1" OD round rail and includes inserts for 7/8" and 1" OD rail. The square rail version fits 1" to 1-1/2" OD square rail. Both versions use aluminum grade-6061 alloys, stainless steel Type-304 screws, an injection-molded nylon cap, and a powder-coated misty silver finish.

This mount suits boats where the shade needs to attach to existing rail structure, such as a bow rail, console rail, leaning-post rail, or other suitable tube location. The mount can be installed vertically or horizontally, which helps match the ShadeFin Mini position to the rail layout on board.

Variants

This ShadeFin Mini rail mount is offered in two tube-rail configurations so the mounting base can match the rail shape already on the boat.

The rail shape and tube size range change between variants. The aluminum grade-6061 alloy construction, stainless steel Type-304 screws, injection-molded nylon cap, misty silver powder-coated finish, included mounting hardware, and 3-year limited warranty are consistent across both versions.

• T10-4000-9: square tube rail mount for 1" to 1-1/2" OD square rail. This configuration is for square rail locations where the ShadeFin Mini needs a fixed rail-mounted base that can sit vertically or horizontally.
• T10-4000-15: round tube rail mount for 7/8" to 1" OD round rail. This configuration includes inserts for 7/8" and 1" OD rail, making it the match for common round rail installations on consoles, bow areas, and other shade-ready rail positions.

Installation and setup

Before installation, check the outside diameter and shape of the rail at the mounting location. The mount should match the rail profile closely, and the rail section should be positioned where the ShadeFin Mini can deploy without interfering with steering, fishing movement, seat access, hatches, or walking paths.

Because the mount can be installed vertically or horizontally, it gives some flexibility when working around rail layouts on center consoles, cruisers, bay boats, and other vessels with exposed tube structure. Hardware is included, but the final installation should always be checked for tightness after the first few uses and as part of normal boat maintenance.

Use on board

This mount is a good match for owners who already use or plan to use a ShadeFin Mini and want the shade supported from existing rail tubing rather than adding a deck or wall mount.
