Overview

The TACO Marine T10-4000-11 is a ShadeFin Mini semi-flush mount with backing plate for installing a removable ShadeFin Mini post on a deck, console top, or other flat surface. It leaves a low-profile ring secured in place when the post is removed, so the shade support can be stowed without leaving a tall mount in the way.

The mount uses aluminum grade-6061 alloys, stainless steel Type-304 screws, and an anodized aluminum finish. A backing plate and mounting hardware are included, which is useful when the mounting surface needs more support below the deck or console.

Installation and setup

This mount is made for a flat mounting location such as a boat deck or console top. Once the semi-flush ring is installed, the ShadeFin Mini post is fitted with the threaded locking ring and tightened into the mount before the shade is attached.

Plan the mounting spot with clearance above and below the surface. The backing plate should sit where it can support the load beneath the deck or console, and the removable post should have enough room to be installed, tightened, removed, and stowed without interfering with seats, hatches, electronics, or foot traffic.

On-board use

This is a good match for boats where occasional shade is needed but permanent upright hardware would get in the way. It suits helm areas, console tops, casting decks, and open seating zones where the ShadeFin Mini may be used while anchored, drifting, or spending time dockside.
