Overview
The Plash Gravity is a surface mounted LED deck light for boats that need cool white courtesy or task lighting without cutting a large core hole. It uses a 1W OSRAM LED with 105 lumens of output, a 6000K cool white color, and a 120-degree beam angle for broad visibility around decks, cockpits, hardtops, steps, and interior utility areas.
This Gravity model family is built around a machined aluminum housing with stainless steel faceplate options. It is offered in 12VDC and 24VDC configurations, draws 0.2A at 12VDC or 0.1A at 24VDC, and carries an IP67 fixture rating when installed with sealed wiring and a protected mounting location.
Key features
- 105-lumen cool white output at 6000K for deck, cockpit, hardtop, step, or cabin-area visibility.
- 1.2W LED load with a 120-degree beam angle, helping spread light across nearby walking and working areas.
- Offered in 12VDC and 24VDC versions, with 0.2A draw at 12VDC and 0.1A draw at 24VDC.
- IP67-rated fixture for wet marine locations when the wiring and mounting area are sealed correctly.
- Surface mount installation avoids a large core cut; the wire passes through a drilled hole and the housing fastens to the boat structure.
- 9 ft tinned copper power wire with a black insulated jacket for routing to a protected marine circuit.
- Stainless steel faceplate options include Eyelid, Dome, Surface Mount, and Cone styles.
Variants
This range varies by faceplate style and voltage. The faceplate options are Eyelid, Dome, Surface Mount, and Cone, and each style is available in a 12VDC or 24VDC configuration except where a specific listing limits the selection.
The cool white light output, 6000K color temperature, 1.2W power rating, 120-degree beam, IP67 fixture rating, and stainless steel faceplate finish remain consistent across the stainless steel cool white Gravity configurations listed here. The visible profile and faceplate size vary by style, so the chosen variant should be checked against the mounting surface before drilling.
Installation and setup
The Gravity light mounts on the surface of the boat structure, so installation is mainly about routing the wire, fastening the housing, and sealing the electrical connection. A small drilled hole is used for the power wire, and the housing is mounted with two screws after the location is measured and prepared. Pre-drilling the screw holes helps keep the mounting surface clean, especially on fiberglass.
The cover plate should be fully seated after the light body is fastened. The light should not be placed in low areas where standing water can collect, and the wiring connection should use a waterproof connector rated for the same wet environment or a properly sealed soldered connection.
Electrical and system integration
Match the selected version to the boat circuit: 12VDC models belong on a 12VDC system, while 24VDC models belong on a 24VDC system. Do not connect the fixture to voltage above 24VDC. The power supply should be constant voltage, and the circuit should be fuse protected as part of normal marine wiring practice.
The included 9 ft tinned copper lead gives the installer useful routing length for hardtop, cockpit side, deck, or cabin installations. Keep splices accessible where practical, and maintain the IP rating of the installation by sealing the wire pass-through and any junction point exposed to spray or washdowns.
Fit and onboard use
The light body is shown at 40 mm diameter with a 10.2 mm body height, while the stainless steel faceplates vary by style. Eyelid and Cone faceplates use a 60 mm diameter profile, and Dome and Surface Mount faceplates use a 49 mm diameter profile, so clearance should be checked against nearby trim, rails, hatches, and canvas hardware.
This light suits boat owners, riggers, and builders adding low-draw illumination to fiberglass roofs, cockpit walls, companionway areas, leaning posts, towers, or work zones where cool white light is preferred. The different faceplate shapes let the same light family be used across several locations while keeping the finish consistent.
Materials and care
The machined aluminum housing and stainless steel faceplate finish make the light a good match for visible marine installations where hardware appearance matters. After use in saltwater, rinsing the faceplate and surrounding surface with fresh water helps reduce salt buildup and keeps the lens area clear.
During routine maintenance, check that the cover plate remains secure, the mounting screws are tight, and the wire entry point has not opened up from vibration or cleaning. Do not disassemble the fixture body during service.
