Overview

The Vimar VM16771 is a 1-module mounting frame with fixing screws for panel mounting, finished in grey thermoplastic. It holds a single Vimar Idea module behind a panel and pairs with 1-module Idea cover plates (round or square) for a tidy, finished look on a boat switch panel.

The module mounts from the back side of the frame, so the front face stays clean and service access is from behind the panel. The frame can be installed horizontally or vertically, and its overall size is about 65 x 29.5 mm.

This is a practical fit for refits and new builds where you are standardizing on Vimar Idea modules and need one control point in a tight space, like a helm console, nav station panel, or an interior utility switch cluster.

Compatibility and fit

This frame is meant for Vimar Idea-format 1-module devices and the matching 1-module cover plates. It is for panel installations and does not include a built-in installation box, so plan for appropriate clearance and support behind the panel based on the module and wiring you are fitting.

It is not suitable for a 60 mm round flush box, floor boxes, wall ducts, or DIN-rail mounting. If you are replacing an existing frame, confirm you are staying within the Vimar Idea ecosystem so the module and cover plate alignment matches.

Installation and setup

Position the frame on the panel, align it for horizontal or vertical mounting, and fasten it using the supplied screws (or suitable hardware for your panel material). Mount the module from the rear of the frame, complete wiring with proper strain relief behind the panel, then finish the front with the matching 1-module cover plate.

On boats, it is worth sealing any panel penetrations and keeping wiring runs supported so vibration does not work connections loose over time.

Materials and care

The thermoplastic body is a good fit for interior panels and protected locations. For washdown-prone areas, keep the frame and module protected by the surrounding panel and cover plate, and avoid harsh solvents during cleaning.
