Overview

The B&G Zeus S Ultrawide is a sailing chartplotter and multifunction display with an ultrawide touchscreen, offered in 12 inch and 15 inch screen sizes. The extra-wide format gives you room to keep a full chart view up while still showing sailing data, instrument pages, or system controls on the same screen.

It connects into a typical modern sailboat electronics setup with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and NMEA 2000 networking, so navigation data and device information can be shared across the boat. It also supports IP video camera input, which is handy for keeping an eye on the cockpit, transom, or engine room from the helm.

These configurations are sold as chartplotter combos with no transducer included. If you want depth and sonar, plan on adding a compatible transducer and an appropriate sonar source for your system.

Variants

This product is offered in multiple configurations based on screen size.

The screen size changes the physical fit at the helm and how much information you can keep visible at once. Both sizes are built for networking over Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and NMEA 2000.

• 000-16355-001: Screen size 12 inch. A good fit for narrower pedestals and compact nav pods where dash real estate is limited.
• 000-16357-001: Screen size 15 inch. Provides more horizontal workspace for side-by-side chart and sailing data layouts at a wide helm station.

Installation and setup

Plan the mounting location around heat and airflow. Leave clearance for cable routing and for inserting chart and update media, and avoid surfaces that flex or transmit heavy vibration. If the unit will be flush mounted in a closed console, allow ventilation behind the display so heat can escape.

Power is 12 V DC, so it matches typical house battery systems on sailboats. Use a fused or breaker-protected positive feed, keep wiring runs tidy with service loops, and route data cables away from high-current wiring and transmitting equipment to reduce interference.

Networking and integration

For NMEA 2000 installs, connect the display to a powered backbone with proper termination at both ends of the network. Keep drop cable runs within standard NMEA 2000 limits and avoid long daisy-chain layouts that create voltage drop and intermittent device discovery.

Ethernet is used for higher-bandwidth sharing and synchronization between compatible devices on board. Wi-Fi performance depends heavily on mounting location and surrounding structure, so it is worth testing signal strength at the helm before finalizing the cutout or bracket position.

Use on board

This setup makes sense for cruising and racing sailboats that want one helm display to handle charting while still keeping sailing data and controls visible. It is also a good match when you are building around a NMEA 2000 backbone and want a screen that can act as the hub for instruments, sensors, and other onboard electronics.
