Overview

The Garmin BlueChart g3 is an electronic chart for Finnish inland waters (VEU055R) used on compatible Garmin chartplotters. Coverage includes well-known lakes such as Inarijarvi, Oulujarvi, Pielinen, Saimaa, Paijanne, Nasijarvi, and Lohjanjärvi, plus additional waterways in the region.

Chart data is built from integrated Garmin and Navionics content. On compatible plotters, Auto Guidance can calculate a suggested route using your desired depth and overhead clearance, and the chart supports Depth Range Shading for up to 10 depth ranges plus Shallow Water Shading at a user-defined depth. BlueChart g3 Vision variants add features such as 3D perspectives (MarinerEye and FishEye) and chart-overlay satellite imagery and aerial photos where available.

This product is mapping data, not a navigation device. Your chartplotter reads the chart from the SD card while it is inserted, so plan on keeping the card in the unit whenever you want access to the Finnish Lakes coverage.

This chart is offered in multiple configurations so you can match your chartplotter and the way you prefer to load charts.

Variants differ by chart family (BlueChart g3 Vision versus BlueChart g3) and by delivery format (preprogrammed SD card versus download installed to a microSD/SD card). Feature availability depends on chartplotter model and the data available for the area you are navigating.

• 010-C0791-00: BlueChart g3 Vision, SD Card. This is a preprogrammed card that is read directly by the chartplotter when inserted.
• 010-D0461-00: BlueChart g3 Vision, Download. This version is installed to a microSD/SD card through Garmin Express for use in registered chartplotters.
• 010-C0791-20: BlueChart g3, SD Card. This is the standard g3 chart set on a preprogrammed card for plug-in use.
• 010-D0304-00: BlueChart g3, Download. This version installs to a microSD/SD card through Garmin Express, with the chart tied to the device workflow during setup.

Compatibility and fit

Confirm that your Garmin chartplotter supports BlueChart g3 charts and has a compatible SD or microSD card slot before ordering. Some Garmin systems use newer mapping formats, and those units may require a different chart product family.

If you choose a download variant, you will need a microSD/SD card for the installation, and only one chart can be installed per card. Plan your card usage accordingly if you keep multiple regions on board.

Installation and day-to-day use

For SD card variants, insert the card into the chartplotter and power the unit on. The chartplotter reads the chart directly from the card, so the card needs to stay in the unit whenever you want access to this region.

For download variants, install the chart to a microSD/SD card using Garmin Express, then insert that card into the chartplotter for use on the water.

Care and handling

Treat the chart card like critical nav gear. Keep it dry, avoid salt spray around the card slot, and store it in a case when it is not in the plotter.
