Overview
The Lopolight 201-003 Series is a combined red/green sidelight with an FB (flat base) mount, built to give port and starboard sectors from one horizontal fixture on the bow.
It is rated for 2 nm visibility with 112.5 degrees of red and 112.5 degrees of green, runs on 10-32 VDC for 12V and 24V systems, and is sealed to IP68 for exposed mounting. The housing measures 92.5 mm diameter by 36 mm high and draws 2.2 W (163 mA at 12 VDC, 90 mA at 24 VDC).
Key features
- Combined red/green sidelight in one unit (112.5 degrees per color sector) with 2 nm visibility
- 10-32 VDC input and low draw (2.2 W), suitable for both 12V and 24V DC systems
- IP68 sealing for rain, spray, and washdowns
- Pre-cabled with a 2.5 m shielded marine-grade cable for clean routing through the deck or pulpit
- Compact footprint for tight bow areas: 92.5 mm diameter x 36 mm height, 0.55 kg
- Specified minimum feed wire gauge: 0.5 mm2 (AWG 22)
- Operating temperature range: -25 C to 55 C
- Approved to COLREG72, EN14744, IEC 60945, IACS E10, USCG, ABS, M.E.D., DNV, LR
Variants
This light is offered in multiple finish options, while keeping the same combined red/green function and FB (flat base) mounting style.
Both finishes share the same size, 2 nm rating, 10-32 VDC input, IP68 sealing, and 2.5 m shielded cable.
- 201-003-FB: Finish Silver. The silver anodized housing pairs naturally with stainless rails and unpainted aluminum.
- 201-003-FB-B: Finish Black. The black anodized housing blends with dark decks, hardtops, and black hardware.
What's included
- Navigation light, pre-cabled with 2.5 m shielded marine-grade cable
- Installation guide
Installation and setup
Mount the fixture on the vessel centerline forward where the bow has a clear view to port and starboard, and keep the light level so the horizontal sectors stay true. Plan the cable exit and deck penetration so the 2.5 m lead reaches your nav light switch or breaker panel without splices in wet areas, and seal any holes and fasteners to keep water out of the core.
Electrical and system integration
Connect to a 10-32 VDC supply (12V or 24V) through your navigation light circuit. The unit has a low power draw (2.2 W) and uses a shielded cable; keep the shielding practice consistent through the run, and size conductors at or above the specified minimum 0.5 mm2 (AWG 22) for the feed.
Materials and corrosion resistance
The housing is anodized aluminum (25 micron) with a PMMA lens, A4 stainless steel screws, and sealed construction using epoxy and polyurethane. With an IP68 rating, it is suited to exposed bow mounting where salt spray, vibration, and routine washdowns are normal.
Use cases on board
This format is a good fit when you want a single bow-mounted sidelight instead of separate port and starboard fixtures, especially on boats in the 12-20 m range that are set up for 2 nm navigation lights. It also works well for refits where you want a compact footprint and a light that can stay on the same circuit across 12V and 24V boats.
Maintenance and checks
Rinse salt off the lens and housing after offshore runs, and clean the lens with mild soap and water to keep the light output clear. Periodically check the mounting tightness and the cable seal where it passes through the deck, and verify correct red-to-port and green-to-starboard orientation during routine nav light checks.
