Overview
The Garmin 010-11084-00 is an under-deck antenna mount that lets you install a compatible Garmin antenna beneath a fiberglass surface for a clean, uncluttered deck. It is a white plastic mount that is commonly used for the GPS 17x receiver/antenna and similar low-profile installs where the antenna can “see” through fiberglass.
It weighs about 0.30 lb, so it is easy to position on headliners, inside console tops, and under hardtops without adding noticeable load. Under-deck mounting works best when the antenna sits under solid, non-metallic fiberglass with as much open sky above it as possible.
Key features
- Under-deck mounting under fiberglass to keep the antenna out of sight and out of the way
- Used to mount a Garmin GPS 17x receiver/antenna beneath a fiberglass surface
- White plastic mount that blends in with many liners and overhead panels
- Helps keep topside hardware to a minimum, reducing snag points around lines and gear
- Lightweight build at approximately 0.30 lb for flexible placement in tight spaces
Compatibility and fit
This mount is intended for installs under fiberglass. It is not a good match for mounting under metal, carbon, or areas with large metal backing plates, frames, or dense wiring bundles directly above the antenna location, since those can interfere with reception. For best results, plan the location so the antenna has a clear path upward through fiberglass and is kept away from radar masts, speakers with large magnets, and heavy metal structures.
Installation and setup
Choose a flat, stable surface on the underside of the fiberglass where you can reach the fasteners and route the antenna cable without sharp bends. Use marine-appropriate fasteners for the thickness of your liner or mounting surface, and seal any penetrations so moisture cannot wick into the core or migrate into overhead spaces. After mounting, secure the cable with strain relief so vibration and repeated access to panels do not work the connector loose over time.
Use cases on board
This style of mount fits boaters who want GPS reception without an exposed antenna on the deck, especially on fiberglass center consoles, cruisers, and sailboats where you want fewer things to trip over or snag. It is also a practical option when a hardtop or cabin top has room underneath for a hidden install while keeping the antenna location high on the boat.
Maintenance and care
Periodically check the mount for tightness, especially after long runs in chop where vibration can loosen hardware. If the area is exposed to spray or washdowns from inside the console or overhead, wipe it down and inspect around fasteners so small leaks are caught early.
