Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 HD HXUS021R is an electronic coastal chart region for California and Mexico that covers Point Arena to Puerto Vallarta, including Mendocino, San Francisco Bay, the Channel Islands, San Diego, and the Baja Peninsula, with general Mexican coast coverage that includes Mazatlan, Acapulco, and Salina Cruz.
Chart detail includes navigational aids, spot soundings, depth contours, tides and currents, and harbor and marina information. Depth Range Shading supports up to 10 depth ranges, and the chart includes up to 1-foot contours where the underlying data supports it, which helps when you are reading bottom structure and picking safer water around shoals and tight approaches.

Variants
This chart region is offered as BlueChart g3 or BlueChart g3 Vision, and in either SD Card or Download format.

Compatibility and fit
These charts are intended for Garmin chartplotters and multifunction displays that support BlueChart g3 cartography. Confirm your unit supports this cartography and that it matches the format you plan to use, either a chart card slot for microSD/SD or support for chart downloads.
Installation and setup
For SD card versions, insert the chart card into the plotter and select the chart layer from the chart menu. Keep the card installed while navigating with that region.
For download versions, install the chart through Garmin Express, then access the region from your Garmin device once the installation is complete.
Use cases on board
This region is a practical fit for coastal cruising and fishing runs along California, the Channel Islands, and the Baja route, where depth range shading and tight contour detail can make planning and on-water decision-making easier near shore and around harbor entrances.
