Overview
The Garmin NSEU050R is an electronic chart region for the Gulf of Finland and the Gulf of Riga, also covering Lakes Peipus and the Narva River. It is available as Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography for compatible Garmin chartplotters.
A one-year subscription is included, giving access to daily chart updates and downloadable content where supported. On the water, depth-range shading can be set for up to 10 selectable ranges, and contour detail can display down to 1-foot increments in areas with that data.
Key features
- Coverage for the Gulf of Finland (from Ã…land through St. Petersburg), the Gulf of Riga, Lakes Peipus, and the Narva River, including major ports such as Turku, Helsinki, Kotka, Tallinn, Riga, and Ventspils.
- Chart layers support depth-range shading (up to 10 ranges) plus shallow-water shading based on a user-defined depth for quick visual checks in skinny areas.
- Auto Guidance+ route suggestions based on your depth and overhead clearance settings, useful for planning dock-to-dock routes on supported systems.
- Included one-year subscription supports daily updates and downloaded layers; content downloaded during the subscription remains available afterward, but additional downloads require an active subscription.
- Available by delivery format: microSD/SD card or download managed through Garmin Express.
- Garmin Navionics Vision+ versions add extra visual layers such as high-resolution relief shading, satellite imagery overlays, 3D views, and aerial photos (downloaded during an active subscription where available).
Variants
This chart region is offered in multiple configurations so you can match the cartography level and delivery format to your boat and your workflow.
The options vary by version (Garmin Navionics+ vs Garmin Navionics Vision+) and by format (microSD/SD card vs download via Garmin Express). The region is labeled NSEU050R in Navionics+ and NVEU050R in Vision+.
- 010-C1249-20: Garmin Navionics+, microSD/SD. Card format for compatible chartplotters that read charts from a memory card.
- 010-D1851-20: Garmin Navionics+, download. Download delivery managed through Garmin Express for installation and chart management.
- 010-C1249-00: Garmin Navionics Vision+, microSD/SD. Card format with Vision+ premium layers available to download during an active subscription where supported.
- 010-D1851-00: Garmin Navionics Vision+, download. Download delivery through Garmin Express, with Vision+ premium layers available to download during an active subscription where supported.
Compatibility and setup
Confirm your chartplotter supports Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography before purchasing. The card versions require a chartplotter with a compatible microSD or SD card slot, while the download versions are obtained and managed with Garmin Express. Daily updates and downloadable layers are handled through the ActiveCaptain app on supported systems during the subscription period.
Coverage notes
This region is a practical fit for Baltic cruising and coastal navigation around Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and nearby inland waters. It covers the main corridors through the Gulf of Finland and the Gulf of Riga, with inland detail for Lakes Peipus and the Narva River for boats that split time between coastal routes and connected waterways.
Use on board
This chart makes sense for skippers who run the Gulf of Finland regularly, cross between Finland and Estonia, or keep a boat that moves between coastal harbors and inland lake routes in the same season. Depth shading and shallow-water views help when you are picking a safe line into unfamiliar ports, but they still need to be used alongside good lookout, updated notices, and local conditions.
