Overview

The Vimar Idea 16338 is a double RJ11 phone socket module with two 6-position, 4-conductor (6/4) jacks and screw terminals for wiring behind the panel.

It is a flush-mounted module for Vimar IDEA domestic switching device installations, with an IP20 rating for use in protected interior spaces. The module body measures 24.80 mm wide, 50.10 mm high, and 41.00 mm deep, which helps when you are checking clearance behind a bulkhead, nav station, or cabin console.

This is a passive outlet meant for low-voltage communication wiring. It is used to bring a fixed RJ11 connection point to a cabin, office space, or nav area without relying on loose adapters.

Variants

This product is offered in two color configurations to match different IDEA plates and interiors.

The only difference between variants is the face color.

• VM16338: Color Gray. Suits darker helm panels and grey IDEA trim where you want the outlet to blend in.
• VM16338.B: Color Ivory. Fits lighter cabins and off-white IDEA trim where a softer face color looks more consistent.

Compatibility and fit

This module is intended for Vimar IDEA modular wiring device setups. Plan for the module depth and the cable bend radius behind the mounting box or backing plate, especially in thin bulkheads or shallow instrument pods.

RJ11 connections are for low-voltage communication circuits. Keeping these runs separated from AC mains conductors and high-current DC wiring in the same console makes future troubleshooting simpler.

Installation and setup

Terminate the conductors to the rear screw terminals, seat the module into the correct IDEA support, then finish with the matching cover plate. Support hardware, cover plates, and any dust cover or hinged lid are not included with this module.
