Overview
The Raymarine A80349 is a CPT-80 bronze thru-hull transducer with a high-speed fairing block for Raymarine CHIRP Sonar and CHIRP DownVision systems. It records depth and temperature, supports DownVision readings to 600 ft and fishfinder readings to 900 ft, and uses 25 degree and 60 degree beam coverage for sonar returns beneath the boat.
This transducer is made for through-hull installation on fiberglass or wood hulls with deadrise angles from 0 to 25 degrees. The included fairing block helps the transducer sit in cleaner water flow, which matters on planing hulls and faster boats where turbulence can interfere with sonar returns.
With a 33 ft cable, it gives installers useful routing length from the hull location back to the display or sonar connection point. It is a practical match for boaters using compatible Raymarine Dragonfly 4, Dragonfly 5, Dragonfly 7PRO, or Wi-Fish equipment who want a fixed thru-hull transducer rather than a transom-mounted option.
Key features
- Bronze thru-hull transducer body for installations below the waterline on fiberglass or wood hulls.
- High-speed fairing block included to keep water flow smoother across the transducer face.
- CHIRP Sonar and CHIRP DownVision support for depth sounding, fishfinding, and bottom detail.
- Depth capability of 600 ft for DownVision and 900 ft for fishfinder operation.
- 25 degree and 60 degree beam coverage for different sonar views under the hull.
- Records both depth and temperature, giving the display more useful information from one installed transducer.
- 33 ft cable length gives room for routing through bilges, lockers, and equipment spaces.
- Compatible with second-generation Raymarine Dragonfly 4, 5, and 7PRO displays, plus Wi-Fish.
Installation and fit
This is a thru-hull transducer, so installation requires cutting and bedding the fitting through the hull. The hull location should keep the transducer face in clean, non-aerated water and away from strakes, intakes, through-hulls, or other fittings that can disturb sonar readings.
The 0 to 25 degree deadrise range helps cover many powerboat and sailboat hull shapes, but the final location should be checked carefully before drilling. Bronze thru-hull fittings are commonly used on fiberglass and wood hulls, and they should not be mixed with aluminum hulls unless the full installation is reviewed for galvanic compatibility.
Electrical and system integration
The CPT-80 works with compatible Raymarine sonar products that support CHIRP Sonar and CHIRP DownVision through this transducer connection. It is a good fit for owners upgrading from a transom transducer to a cleaner permanent installation, or for boats where the transom location is too turbulent for consistent sonar performance.
Use cases on board
This transducer suits coastal fishing, cruising, and general depth awareness where a permanent through-hull installation is preferred. The fairing block is especially useful on boats that run at higher speeds and need the transducer face aligned for cleaner flow under the hull.
